IAR Systems has announced the launch of the IAR KickStart Kit for NXP LPC2478, a complete development kit that provides a design platform with a touch screen display for multi-interface communication applications featuring Ethernet and USB device and host. The new development kit is ideal for industrial, medical, point-of-sales and other connected applications, and contains all the necessary hardware and software to allow the developer to design, develop, integrate and test new applications.
In a
ddition to an LPC2478 development board and a 32kB limited edition of IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, the kit also contains evaluation editions of IAR visualSTATE, IAR PowerPac for ARM, IAR PowerPac USB, and IAR PowerPac TCP/IP. An IAR J-Link for ARM is included in the kit, along with example applications for the LPC2478 board and board support packages for both IAR PowerPac and Micrium RTOSes. The LPC2478 device is supplied with the kit, as is a 3.5 320x200 24bit color TFT LCD display with backlight and touch screen and a wide selection of peripherals including: a MP3 decoder DSP and VS1002D codec; a 3-axis digital accelerometer with 11 bit accuracy; a 64M SDRAM; USB host and USB device connector; IrDA transceiver; PS2 keyboard connector; 100 Mb/s Ethernet port; CAN driver and connector; RS-232 interface with ICSP control; SD/MMC card connector; JTAG connector; MICTOR trace connector; reset button; 2 user buttons; trimming potentiometer; UEXT connector; audio input and output; and RTC battery holder. The contents of the kit is fully RoHS compliant.
“The new IAR KickStart Kit for NXP LPC2478 provides the developer with all he or she needs to get started with a complete, connected, touch screen application right out of the box,” commented Fredrik Medin, Marketing Manager of IAR Systems. “The inclusion of a choice of evaluation versions of RTOS suitable for small ARM systems gives the developer the benefit of complete control of the system’s operation.”
