Green Hills Software Announces New EEMBC Benchmark Scores

Green Hills Software has announced that its optimizing compilers for the Power Architecture were used by both Freescale and IBM for certified, published Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC) benchmark scores on the MPC8641D and PowerPC 750CL microprocessors. Green Hills compilers have been chosen by microprocessor manufacturers four times more often than other compilers to produce EEMBC published benchmark scores for 32-bit processors.
Microprocessor manufacturers publish EEMBC benchmarks in order to showcase the performance of their products on a wide range of real-world applications. These benchmark results reaffirm Green Hills Software’s compiler technology as the preferred choice for embedded developers who wish to both maximize performance as well as minimize memory footprint and power consumption in their designs.

EEMBC members such as IBM and Freescale know that the choice of compiler has a significant impact on device performance, both in real-world applications and from a benchmark point of view, as these scores for the PowerPC 750CL and MPC8641D show , said Markus Levy, EEMBC president.
