Farnell element14 collaborates with ADI to promote Portable Analog Design Kits among engineering students
Farnell element14 has announced it is to distribute Digilent’s recently developed Analog Discovery Kit which is part of the Analog Devices, Inc, ADI global University Program. Unveiled for the first time in Europe, the “Analog Discovery Kit” will be demonstrated at electronica 2012 in Munich, Germany, this week at the Farnell element14 stand (A5.558).
UnvePriced at £127.27 or €197.73 the Analog Discovery Kit allows engineering students to build and test a wide range of analog and digital circuits using their own PC without the need for any other equipment. This approach eliminates the time and space limitations of traditional university lab settings and allows students more flexibility to experiment with real circuits through direct hands-on experience.
For the price of a textbook, students can purchase a low-cost analog hardware development platform and Analog Devices components, with access to downloadable teaching materials, online support, textbook, reference designs and lab projects to design and implement analog circuits as a supplement to their core engineering curriculum.
The kit can be ordered on line from Farnell element14 ensuring locally available inventory for all students and graduate engineers from the region.
“Farnell element14 has a long established relationship with Universities and engineering schools across Europe, and the flexibility of the Analog Discovery Kit, will be a great complement to what we are already offering online from element14 Community. I am delighted that we will also be demonstrating the kit on our stand at electronica this week.” concluded Mike Buffham, Director of Product and Supplier Management at Farnell element14.
“The Digilent Analog Discovery Kits help enhance engineering students’ educational experience by allowing students to build and test real-world, functional analog design circuits connected to their PCs”, explains Hitesh Patel, Global Channel Marketing manager, Analog Devices. “The design kits are supported by 24/7 access to downloadable teaching materials, online support, textbook, reference designs and lab projects to help students design and implement analog circuits as a supplement to their core engineering curriculum. With Farnell element14 distributing the kits, we are expanding the program and creating more opportunities to collaborate in favour of Universities, especially in Europe.”
