Avnet Embedded seminar gives exclusive insight into Windows Embedded, Intel and Toshiba technologies

Following the success of the event in 2008, Avnet Embedded will this year be hosting the 2009 Embedded Solutions Seminar. Similar to last year, the event will again be targeted at Embedded developers, however this year, exclusive presentations will be given under NDA from Microsoft, Intel and Toshiba. The seminar will be held at the Microsoft Campus, Reading on November 12th. Admission to the seminar is free, and to attend the Microsoft, Intel & Toshiba presentations, attendees will be required to sign an NDA.

During the day, Microsoft will present a detailed review of the features and benefits of the recently launched Windows 7 for Embedded Systems, including information that will help delegates evaluate the potential of the software in their design context. Intel will be presenting an insight into the future of CPU technology – Atom and beyond. Following Toshiba’s recent announcement of the 100,000 hour LED backlit display range, Toshiba will be demonstrating exciting developments in the future of LCD technology and how these can benefit your application.

Delegates will benefit from exclusive information that has not yet been released into the public domain. The seminar provides an invaluable insight to the future of embedded technology from three of the industry’s major players. Due to the sensitive nature of these presentations, seminar delegates joining these presentations will need to complete an NDA on the day. According to Andy Stevens, Senior Product Manager at Trident, An Avnet Embedded Business, “A lot of our customers are expressing interest in Windows 7 for Embedded Systems, industrial displays and Intel Atom based products. By running this seminar under NDA we are able to give them the information they need now.

He continued, “The seminar will also offer training for customers continuing to work with Windows Embedded Standard. The 3-hour technical workshops in the morning and afternoon are available at two levels of complexity. A basic, quick start workshop will be running as an introduction for attendees who have little or no working knowledge of Windows Embedded Standard. For attendees with some knowledge and experience of Windows Embedded Standard, we offer an advanced level workshop.

The seminar is free, and the day will also include application stories, product discussions and demonstrations covering: Intel and Avalue embedded technology, Wireless connectivity, LCD interfacing and Embedded operating systems.
