Intertronics announce the Dymax light-curable optical display bonding adhesives. These one-part LCD adhesives are designed for touch panel assembly including bonding flat panel displays, LCD screens, tablets, outdoor kiosks, navigation systems, liquid crystal displays, kiosk panels, mobile phones, and smart connected devices.

The DYMAX family of Ultra Light-Weld optical display and touch screen adhesives feature “on-demand cure” with UV/visible light, meaning that substrates can be repositioned precisely until parts are ready to be cured. LCD adhesives help to reduce air entrapment in order to create strong, ripple-free bonds which increase panel strength. They also act as a barrier against stress to greatly improve product reliability and lower warranty costs. Additionally, a thin layer of adhesive controls cost and can reduce the weight of the final product.

The adhesives are available in varying viscosities for use in flat panel display bonding where bond strength, non-yellowing, and re-workability characteristics are important: the 9701 and 9702 low-viscosity materials offer easy-flow characteristics for panel laminations; and the higher viscosity 9703 is available for damming requirements. The Ultra Light-Weld adhesives are suitable for bonding: glass to glass; PET to ITO glass; CAB polariser to acrylic; polycarbonate to polycarbonate; polycarbonate to CTA; glass to CTA; and polycarbonate to mesh to polycarbonate.

The DYMAX Ultra Light-Weld optical display and touch screen adhesives also feature: non-yellowing characteristics for increased light transmission, enhanced brightness, improved optical clarity and better contrast ratios; superior re-workability for easy removal or repair; excellent thermal shock resistance; excellent bond strength; easy flow characteristics for flat panel lamination; and low shrinkage which minimises visible distortion after cure.
