This significant update introduces compatibility with Intel Core processors from the 14th generation across its ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboard ranges, which are developed and manufactured in Germany.
The R2.12.0 BIOS update extends to all Kontron motherboards in the ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX formats, including flagship models like the high-performance K3851-R ATX and the retail-optimised K3831-H Thin mITX. This enhancement not only promises a boost in processing power but also ensures extended availability of the motherboard platforms.
Elevated performance for advanced applications
Leveraging Intel Performance Hybrid Architecture, the latest 14th generation Intel Core processors boast up to 24 cores, combining 8 Performance Cores with 16 Efficient Cores. The update brings substantial performance improvements, particularly to the Intel Core i7 processors, which now feature up to 20 cores. This upgrade is designed to meet the demands of intensive applications, further supported by discrete Wi-Fi 7 capability for next-generation wireless connectivity.
Starting from mid-March 2024, the support for 14th generation Intel Core processors will be rolled out to all Micro-ATX motherboards, including the K3842-Q µATX and K3841-Q µATX models. The ATX and Mini-ITX boards, such as the K3851-R ATX, K3833-Q mITX, K3832-Q mITX, and K3831-H Thin mITX, will receive the update in subsequent phases.
Kontron is set to showcase these updated motherboards at the upcoming embedded world 2024 exhibition in Nuremberg, located in Hall 3, Booth 3-159. This update reaffirms Kontron’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and support for the latest processors, ensuring its motherboards are equipped to handle the requirements of today's demanding computing environments.
