SCHURTER has introduced a new family of vertically mountable chokes for printed circuit boards (PCBs), offering high inductance in a compact form.

The DKCV-1 current-compensated chokes are designed to support currents ranging from 0.5 to 10A. Thanks to their nanocrystalline cores, these chokes deliver high inductance while maintaining a compact size.

As energy sector applications become increasingly powerful yet compact, the demand for efficient electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression has grown. The compact design of modern electronic devices often leads to higher levels of EMI, making robust filtering elements essential. The DKCV-1 series offers an ideal solution by integrating powerful filter elements directly onto PCBs, ensuring high attenuation in compact spaces.

High performance in a small footprint

The use of nanocrystalline cores allows for the handling of high currents with a minimal footprint. With a vertical design, the chokes take up very little space on the PCB, while all variants in the DKCV-1 family share the same PCB footprint, simplifying design integration.

Applications

The DKCV-1 chokes are well-suited for applications that require high inductance in a small form factor. Key applications include switching power supplies, industrial systems, medical devices, and laboratory and test equipment. The chokes are rated for currents up to 10A and voltages up to 300VAC or 450VDC. They also carry ENEC, cUR, and UR certifications.

For applications requiring even higher power, SCHURTER offers the DKIV-1 series, which supports rated currents up to 50A.

These new chokes provide a versatile and efficient solution for managing EMI in compact and high-performance electronic systems.
