Cabinets reduce extended storage space costs by 50%
Expanding the company’s range of ultra low humidity drying and storage cabinets, Totech Super Dry has launched the MSD Series of desiccant storage solutions. The cabinets feature very high performance dehumidification in a modular design that costs 50% less than conventional solutions.
Totech Super Dry have claimed that the MSD series is the first modular dry cabinet that can be expanded as your storage and drying needs increase. The basic MSD can be expanded to 4800 litres without the need for additional Dry Units.
Since frequent and extended door openings impact the interior environment, cabinet recovery time is a critical performance factor. The MSD cabinets provide recovery times after door openings of under 5 minutes. The U 5002 desiccant unit is capable of comfortably controlling 3600 litres (127 cubic feet) of storage area and can achieve relative humidity of less than 0.5%. This reduces the cost of extended storage space by 50% and enables the units to be easily deployed in the field.
ESD safe, the enclosures feature individually lockable doors which are alarmed in case the doors have been left open for an extended period of time or the relative humidity is out of the specified range. With a unique aspect ratio that is deep enough to accept even tape feeders, the enclosures offer excellent ergonomics thanks to retractable steel shelves on metal roller bearings. Offering very fast drying times, the MSD enclosures can dry a Level 3 component of 1.4mm in 8 days (at 25°C and 1% RH). This is half the time of the 16 days offered by market competitors.
With the ever increasing trend for the miniaturisation of electronics, the management of moisture sensitivity is an increasingly critical element of product reliability, particularly with thinner components and new materials. Manufacturers are being challenged to manage larger and larger volumes of parts in a controlled and traceable manner. The Totech Super Dry MSD series desiccant cabinets are available now.
