Electrolube will be hosting a presentation at productronica India’s Technical Automotive Seminar. Phil Kinner, Global Business and Technical Director of Electrolube’s Conformal Coatings Division, will present two automotive themed Conformal Coating case studies, examining real problems with an emphasis onanalysis and trouble shooting.

Phil’s experience has produced a thorough understandingof problems and processes associated with both materials and equipment.  He is a specialist troubleshooter and was instrumental in the development and commercialisation of the first generation of UV cure coatings. Known for his  development of the  two-part 2K Conformal Coatings, Phil is an active member of the IPC-830 Committee, a regular speaker at SMTA events and has a long association with the National Physical Laboratory.

During the Technical Automotive Seminar, Phil’s first case study will relate to a customer application of a product, historically selectively dipped in solvent-based acrylic with a desired production transfer to Mexico. The customer’s new facility would be utilising selective spray coating with automated optical inspection and the technology transfer was proving very difficult. Phil will discuss his visit to the customer facility and identification of the root cause before moving on to problem resolution. The second case study will analyse a scenario for an automotive tier 2 OEM/supplier in which the customer wishes to remove their current solvent based coating solution. Once again, Phil will investigate the problem and explain his recommendations.

Ron Jakeman, Group Managing Director of Electrolube, said "We are delighted to have the opportunity to share our expertise in conformal coating technologies with the electronics community at Productronica India’s Technical Automotive Seminar.  Our business and reputation in India is growing rapidly and our expert knowledge of automotive applications has been endorsed by many of Europe’s leading car manufacturers. With our extensive range of products, technical expertise and our consistent commitment to pushing the boundaries, we are excited to contribute to the Technical Automotive Seminar, where Phil will undoubtedly deliver a very informative and interesting presentation, particularly at a time when Electrolube is really making a difference for automotive manufacturers.”

Electrolube will also be launching new electronics protection products on stand 1019at the show. New products include the acrylic conformal coating HFAC, which is well suited for automotive applications, a new zinc oxide free thermal paste called HTCX_ZF and a range of high performance resins for LED applications.
