Avoiding common AC-DC design pitfalls
Design-in of AC-DC front end modules can be complicated. This session will provide a straightforward approach for success, covering such topics as: source impedance considerations, inrush current, filter resonance and damping, PFC, faults, fusing, system stability and safety.
Vicor power module simplifies aerospace design
Escalating concern over rising carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is driving worldwide demand for pure-electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid-electric vehicles (HEV) in aerospace design. The airline industry is undergoing a similar evolution and is analysing the cost and performance benefits of electric-powered aviation. If air travel infrastructure costs can be driven down, it becomes feasible to expand air travel to underserviced and remote geographies.
Don’t miss Vicor’s webinar on optimal PCB layout
In Vicor's webinar Salah Ben Doua will explain how PCB layout is critical for removing heat and delivering power across a system, yet designers often overlook its importance. This results in poor designs, inadequate performance, and the cost and delay of a re-work.
Autonomous wireless charging solutions increase uptime
Vicor has announced their high-efficiency power autonomous wireless charging solutions that neutralise thermal management constraints, enabling innovative adaptive-matching transmitter for any battery, any robot, and any station.
Collaboration to power coral reef growth
CCell Renewables is a marine engineering company on a missionto combat coastal erosion and enhance marine ecosystems by restoring and growing new coral reefs on a large scale. According to the latest figures over 70% of the world's coastlines are eroding.
New Vicor webinar on PCB Design | Jun 17, 11am CEST
Designers often overlook the importance of a PCB’s layout but it is critical for removing heat and delivering power across a system. This results in poor designs, inadequate performance, and the cost and delay of a re-work. Decentralised 48V power for EV challenges
Manufacturers of cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles are rapidly electrifying their vehicles to increase the fuel efficiency of internal combustion engines and reduce CO2 emissions. There are many electrification choices, but most manufacturers are opting for a decentralised 48V power mild-hybrid system rather than a full-hybrid powertrain.
Why choose a decentralised power architecture for your next automotive design?
Most automotive power delivery architectures are based on a centralized, multi-KW converter that feeds 12V around the vehicle to 12V loads. See how a decentralised 48V power architecture lowers weight and cost, improves efficiency and reduces emissions. To find out more, download the white paper!
What are the benefits of a decentralised power architecture?
See how a decentralised 48V power architecture lowers weight and cost, improves efficiency and reduces emissions. Adding a 48V power delivery network (PDN) to hybrid vehicles and deploying a decentralised power architecture, significantly reduces CO2 emissions. Visit this page to download the white paper now!
