GNSS technology from u-blox has been selected by Cohda Wireless for use in its Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) equipment, collectively called ‘V2X’. MK5, the Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) based V2X system is a next-gen ADAS, enabling early warning of an imminent collision, oncoming traffic, presence of road workers and unsafe speed based on vehicles in the vicinity. 

Capable of generating a precise reference clock with less than 20ns accuracy, the NEO-M8T and LEA-M8T precision timing modules have been released by u-blox. Enabling quick start-up even inside structures with limited sky-view, the receivers offer high sensitivity (-157dBm signal acquisition with assisted GNSS). The precise reference clock is derived from multi-GNSS including GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou.

  u-blox's TOBY-L200 4G LTE module has achieved 'network compatible' status for North Americas largest LTE networks. According to the manufacturer, the 150Mb/s TOBY-L200 is the world’s smallest Category 4 LTE module at 24.8x35.6mm and operates over an automotive temperature range from -40 to +85°C.

Suited to M2M applications, particularly Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and smart power grid applications, the LISA-C210 CDMA450 1xRTT voice/data module has been introduced by u-blox. The module offers low power consumption, operating from just 20μA in power off mode, 5mA in sleep mode and 750mA in data traffic mode.

  u-blox and Telenor Connexion have collaborated to secure efficient and optimised usage of M2M/IoT devices and applications in mobile networks. The aim is to further enable rapid growth and accelerate deployments of connected solutions.

u blox's SARA-U260 dual-band 3G/2G module has achieved 'AT&T network compatible' status, allowing customers to design modems into M2M devices operating over AT&T’s 3G network in the USA. u-blox has announced that the MAX-7 GPS/GNSS module has been integrated into the SporTrek 1305, a next-gen bike computer from Holux. Supporting GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and all SBAS, the compact module targets applications requiring small size, low power, fast acquisition and reliable operation in GPS hostile environments.

Suitable for demanding IoT, industrial, vehicle, medical and security applications, u-blox has introduced the ODIN-W160 rugged multiradio module. u-blox has announced that it has acquired Antcor Advanced Network Technologies. The acquisition consists of a purchase of 100% of the shares of Antcor at a price of €5.2m, as well as an earn-out which offers the sellers the possibility to participate in certain future revenues of the company.

Arvento Mobile Systems has announced that it has chosen to use u-blox's cellular module technology in its tracking and onboard-diagnostics device. The imt.24 - OBD Tracker is designed for real-time vehicle diagnostics and tracking, providing GPS positioning based on a variety of real-time sensor inputs including time, speed, distance, motion, pause, idling and acceleration.

Verizon Wireless has certified the ultra-compact TOBY-L100 4G LTE module from u-blox, enabling customers to leverage the Verizion Wireless network to develop IoT and M2M applications. The certification allows customers to design u-blox’s TOBY-L100 LTE modules into devices operating on Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network.

Claimed to be the world’s smallest and most versatile personal tracking device, the Trax from WTS is based on u-blox's CAM-M8Q GNSS receiver module. Measuring just 9.6x14.0x1.95mm, the GNSS module includes an integrated chip antenna plus SAW filter, LNA, TCXO, RTC crystal and passives. 

Supplied in a tiny 9.6x14.0x1.95mm package, a GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/QZSS antenna module has been introduced by u-blox. The surface-mount CAM-M8Q supports concurrent GNSS operation (GPS & GLONASS, GPS & BeiDou or GLONASS & BeiDou) to enable reliable and accurate satellite positioning anywhere in the world.
