A global provider of engineered electronics for performance critical applications, TT Electronics has announced the market introduction of its HCC100x series of radiation tolerant optocouplers. The devices are ideal for the isolation of electrical circuits within high-radiation deep spaceflight applications, including satellites, launch vehicles, space craft, and planetary rovers.
Automotive actuators improve haptic accelerator pedals
TT Electronics has introduced automotive actuators for next-gen haptic accelerator pedals. The TT Electronics actuators tackle the weak spots of systems currently available on the market, offering a total weight under 400g, a significant reduction from the total weight of comparable pedals.
SiC MOSFETs meet high temperature environments
Designed for faster switching, high temperature power conversion topologies and systems, a silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET from TT Electronics has a maximum junction temperature of 225°C. The package has a higher ambient temperature capability and can therefore be used in applications, including distribution control systems with greater environmental challenges, such as those in close proximity to a combustion engine, says the company.
TT Electronics top executives successfully complete charity bike ride
TT Electronics’s CEO Richard Tyson and CFO Mark Hoad successfully completed a company charity cycle ride that has raised over £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The epic ride took place over the weekend of 11 June and the route joined up four TT UK sites, from Northumberland to Wales.
TT Electronics announces seven-day standard lead times
TT Electronics has announced the availability of seven-day standard lead times on all of its fully configurable temperature, pressure, level, and flow sensing products, offered under its Roxspur Measurement and Control brand. Customers may choose from among hundreds of available configurations across the full portfolio.
Automotive-qualified power inductors are robust & efficient
Targeting LED driver and braking control system applications in the automotive market, TT Electronics announces the HA78 series of power inductors. The inductors are suited for high power density applications where size is critical and particularly where high-efficiency DC/DC converters are using high switching frequencies to 3Mhz as well as EMI and low pass DC filters.
Automotive SMT power inductors operate up to +180°C
Designed for use in high temperature, high power, automotive applications, TT Electronics has announced a range of SMT power inductors. The HA72T-06 series inductors meet the growing automotive market’s demand for certified, high power inductors for high efficiency DC/DC converter deployment using high switching frequencies up to 3Mhz as well for as EMI and low pass DC ripple filters in high temperature environments.
Precision resistor range offers improved tolerances
TT Electronics has announced an extension to its WIN series range of precision chip resistors with improved tolerances and TCRs. The minimum ohmic value is now halved to 5Ω and a tolerance of ±0.05% and TCR of ±15ppm/°C is now included. In addition, WIN is now available with optional SnPb terminations, allowing its use in high reliability designs where RoHS termination finishes are not required. This represents the fi...
Offering OEMs long term stability
The TPL Series of high performance industrial pressure transmitters have been launched by TT Electronics. The TPL Series is digitally compensated to provide accurate, reliable pressure measurements with long term stability. They are well suited for OEM requirements within the industrial automation, hydraulics and pneumatics, agricultural and off-road vehicle, HVAC, water treatment and general instrumentation sectors.
Position sensors deliver over 10m shaft rotations
Designed to operate reliably over a minimum of 10m shaft rotations with no signal output degradation, TT Electronics has unveiled a series of high-performance multi-turn non-contacting rotary position sensors. The MagnePot 8150 series are suited for applications in high-reliability markets such as industrial, medical and aviation/aerospace.
Resistors enable current sensing in many applications
The LRMAP3920 series is a range of high reliability, low value SMT shunt resistors for current sensing duties from TT Electronics. With values down to 200μΩ and a power rating of 5W on FR4 fibreglass circuit boards, the maximum measurable current is over 150A, and in most cases is restricted only by the current handling of the PCB tracks.
TT Electronics acquires Aero Stanrew Group
Aero Stanrew is a leader in the design and production of electromagnetic components and electronic systems for harsh environments and safety critical applications. The business is primarily focused on the commercial aerospace and defence markets with sole-source positions on key growing platforms.
SMT power inductors improve reliability & efficiency
TT Electronics has launched a range of SMT power inductors for high frequency and high temperature applications. The HA65A series inductors are designed to meet the requirements of the growing automotive market's need for certified, high power inductors specifically for buck, boost or buck-boost power converter topologies for optimum voltage regulation at fast switching frequencies.
Primary schools to promote STEM subjects
In continued efforts to support STEM subjects, TT Electronics-Integrated Manufacturing Services (IMS) hosted a group of aspiring engineering students at its Fairford facility (formerly known as New Chapel Electronics). On 15th April, STEMworks brought together six students from Stratton and North Cerney primary schools to promote the subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Water-pump controller helps keep Audi engines cool
TT Electronics has collaborated with Volkswagen-Audi Group and Saleri to develop an electrically driven 50W water-pump controller (EWPU) for the turbo-intercooler circuit of the EA288 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine used in the Audi A3, A4, A6 models. The controller helps increase fuel efficiency by reducing load on the engine crank, and reduces emissions by assisting faster warm-up.
ZI-formed leads simplify process flows
The ZI-formed lead option allows the conversion of an axial through-hole resistor into a surface mount component without compromising the performance of the resistor. This form factor has allowed design engineers to utilise the characteristics of certain axial components, including those with UL recognition (such as the ULR wirewound series UL1412 recognised fusible resistors), in circuit design where space is a premium.
