Digi-Key at Embedded World 2022 with ADI Trinamic
At embedded world 2022, on the Digikey booth, Paige West speaks with Thomas Ernst from ADI Trinamic about motor and motion control, a new product launch and the technical support offered to customers.
Trinamic’s 3-phase MOSFET gate driver
TRINAMIC Motion Control has introduced the integrated TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET gate driver that the company claim simplifies design and maximises battery life of brushless direct current (DC) motor drives. The TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET gate driver integrates all three bottom shunt amplifiers to provide a complete motor drive solution with a supposed 30% improved power efficiency, while simplifying design by reducing component count by half when ...
Gate driver delivers 30% improved power efficiency
TRINAMIC Motion Control, now part of Maxim Integrated Products, has introduced the fully integrated TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET gate driver.
Open-source reference design speeds end-of-arm tooling
TRINAMIC Motion Control, now part of Maxim Integrated Products, has introduced an open-source, fully integrated reference design that simplifies the development of industrial robotic end-of-arm tooling (EoAT). The TMCM-1617-GRIP-REF reference design integrates hardware-based field-oriented control (FOC) and three communication ports to shrink the design size of electronic robotic grippers by three times, while reducing development time by half.
Servo controller/driver module accelerates robotics
TRINAMIC Motion Control, now part of Maxim Integrated Products, has introduced a small and lowest-power single-axis servo controller/driver module with integrated motion control. The new TMCM-1321 servo controller/driver module enables two-phase bipolar stepper motors in robotics and automation equipment to optimise speed and synchronisation of axes for quicker throughput while also reducing power loss by 75%.
Embedded motion control modules optimise power
TRINAMIC Motion Control, now part of Maxim Integrated Products, has introduced two new sets of slot type, embedded motion control modules and development tools that feature a real-time, sensor-free control technology. These complete controller/driver modules keep the motor control system’s communications traffic low by processing real-time critical functions on-board and offloading demand on the system processor.
Hardware upgrade announced for modular toolkit
Famed for its toolkits that ease implementation of the most advanced motion control and motor control, Trinamic has introduced an upgrade to its modular evaluation system with the interface board Landungsbrücke 2.0. Introduced in 2015, the modular evaluation system of Trinamic allows engineers to quickly implement and test different system designs for their application.
EtherCAT slave controller is first to integrate RT, latency-free I/O peripherals
TRINAMIC has announced an EtherCAT-compliant slave controller IC. It is the world’s first EtherCAT slave controller to integrate real-time, latency-free I/O peripherals. The TMC8460 slave controller is also the first device in an EtherCAT-compliant interface product line currently under development at TRINAMIC, based on the company’s active membership in the EtherCAT Technology Group.
