TRaC Global has today announced it has been approved as a Certified Test Laboratory by Continua Health Alliance – the first in the United Kingdom. Following the announcement, made at the opening plenary of Continua Health Alliance’s Summit being held this week in Berlin, TRaC is now the only test house in the world to be approved by the Continua Health Alliance as well as the ZigBee Alliance and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group.

TRaC Global has added an over-the-air test capability to its multi-profile Tracer test harness suite for ZigBee Smart Energy devices. TRaC, has announced that Director of Dynamic Testing, Chris Stone, has been appointed as an honorary consultant in the Department of Civil Engineering at Bristol University. Test, certification and compliance specialist, TRaC, has further expanded its capabilities in ZigBee Testing to include testing for ZigBee Remote Control (ZRC) devices. The new service covers both the remote control devices and their target counterparts, with ZRC increasingly being employed in cutting edge equipment such as HD TV, Blu-ray, Set Top Boxes and other products using similar advanced technology.

TRaC is pleased to announce that its established relationship with Rolls-Royce in the UK has been further extended following the award of a two-year Embedded Supplier contract to support aircraft engine development and production. The contract is for the supply of Impact Impedance Test (Modal Analysis) expertise. By the contract renewal date in late 2012, TRaC’s relationship with Rolls-Royce will span more than eight years.

TRaC announces the appointment to the TRaC Partner Programme of Guangzhou Certitek Testing Service Co. Ltd. Certitek is based in the Panyu District of Guangzhou, China. In accordance with the agreed schedule, the approvals service provided by TRaC via Certitek covers the Machinery Safety Directive 2006/42/EC in support of CE Marking, testing and certification.

TRaC has further extended its environmental test capabilities with the installation of a Lansmont 95 shock test machine. The investment, at TRaC’s Warwick facility, augments a shock, impact and vibration test installation that already comprises 14 electromagnetic “shakers” and an alternative design of drop test machine.

TRaC is now able to offer testing of medical equipment in accordance with the IEC/EN60601 standard. TRaC is fully accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) to test equipment in accordance with the international standard.
