The AL15SE series HDD has been announced by Toshiba Electronics Europe, its next-gen of 10,500rpm enterprise performance hard disk drives for mission-critical servers and storage. The new drive series boasts a 2,400GB capacity model – a 33% capacity increase over Toshiba’s AL14SE generation and Toshiba’s largest capacity ever for a 10,500rpm HDD.

  Toshiba Electronics Europe has expanded its line-up of MOSFETs based on its latest generation U-MOS-IX-H trench semiconductor process with a new, ultra compact 40V device featuring an integrated Soft Recovery Diode (SRD).

The 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster was the most costly nuclear related incident since Chernobyl 25 years earlier. It was caused by a tsunami following the Tohoku earthquake, which disabled the emergency generators that were employed to cool the reactors. This insufficient cooling led to three nuclear meltdowns, hydrogen-air explosions and the release of radioactive materials.

Earlier this year Toshiba Corp agreed to pay $2.168bn to walk away from two unfinished nuclear reactors in South Carolina being built by its Westinghouse subsidiary. Payments will be made in instalments that began in October and will end in September 2022.

Based on the company’s latest generation U-MOS-IX-H trench semiconductor process, Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced new 40 and 60V power MOSFETs. The TK3R1P04PL, TK4R4P06PL and TK6R7P06PL N-channel MOSFETs can be driven by 4.5V logic levels and offer ultra-low maximum on resistance (RDS(ON)) ratings down to just 3.1mΩ (at VGS = 10V).

  A multi-channel solenoid and unipolar motor driver IC (TB67S111PG) that delivers high-voltage and low ON resistance drive has been launched by Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE). TB67S111PG incorporates four channels each consisting of one low-side MOSFET and a free-wheeling diode connected to drain.

Two additions have been added to Toshiba Electronics Europe's line-up of photorelays; the 60V TLP3407S and the 100V TLP3409S. These devices are packaged in S-VSON4, the 2.00x1.45mm package with what it claims to be the industry's smallest mounting area. The new products realise high voltages while retaining the features of the existing TLP3406S, which offers a 30V rating with large on-state current rating and small size.
