The Munich based high-tech startup, Toposens, is announcing the market launch of its first commercial Toposens 3D Collision Avoidance System for mobile robots based on the proprietary Toposens 3D ultrasonic echolocation technology.

The industrial grade sensor development kit, from Toposens, ECHO ONE DK, uses 3D ultrasonic technology, which mimics a bat’s echolocation techniques to generate real-time 3D echo location data to guide autonomous systems such as AGVs, robots and other industrial applications.

Toposens recently announced the release of their current flag-ship product TS3, a 3D ultrasonic sensor suitable for a wide range of applications in the autonomous systems market that require reliable object detection and situational awareness.
