It has been announced that Siqura’s marine dome camera will assist The Ocean Cleanup foundation in its work in the Pacific Ocean starting mid-2018. The Ocean Cleanup decided to choose Siqura’s camera after a competitive selection process. Siqura is sponsoring their valuable work on this project by providing the technology at a discounted price.

The Ocean Cleanup, the Dutch foundation developing advanced technologies to rid the oceans of plastic, announces that it has successfully secured the funding required for its North Sea prototype test, which will start early summer 2016.

The world’s first system to passively clean up plastic pollution from the world’s oceans is to be deployed in Q2 2016, Boyan Slat, 20-year old founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup, announced at Asia’s largest technology conference, Seoul Digital Forum, South-Korea. The feasibility of deployment, off the coast of Tsushima, an island located in the waters between Japan and South-Korea, is currently being researched.
