DC/DC power regulator offers 94.6% peak efficiency
Designed to drive space-constrained and power dense applications in a variety of markets, including consumer, industrial and automotive, the LMR22007 SIMPLE SWITCHER regulator has been announced by Texas Instruments. The device features an integrated synchronous MOSFET delivering peak efficiency of 94.6%.
Signal conditioner is first to drive SAS-3 protocol
Compatible with existing 3Gbps and 6Gbps SAS link rates used in data centre applications, the DS125BR800A multi-protocol repeater has been introduced by Texas Instruments. The company has claimed that this is the industry’s first signal conditioner capable of driving the serial-attached SCSI (SAS-3) protocol.

16-bit DAC converter claims to be industry's fastest
Claiming to be the industry's fastest 16-bit DAC converter, TI's DAC38J84 and DAC38J82 support the JEDEC JESD204B serial interface standard for data converters up to 12.5Gbps. TI claims that the 4-channel, 2.5-GSPS DAC38J8 is 66% faster than competing devices, whilst the 2-channel, 16-bit DAC38J82 is 22% faster than exisitng 16-bit dual DACs.
Op amp delivers stable offset voltage drift
Eliminating the requirement for system level calibration, the OPA192 is an operational amplifier (op amp) which realises stable offset voltage drift over the full specified temperature range of -40 to +125°C. Texas Instruments claim that their OPA192 is the industry’s first 36V rail-to-rail input and output op amp to achieve precision offset voltage and drift without using auto-zero techniques.
Transmitter enables 5V or 12V Qi wireless charging
Claiming to require half the components compared to other solutions, the bq500412 wireless power transfer circuit has been announced by Texas Instruments. The controller will enable designers to bring to market 3-coil, 5V and 12V A6 charging stations compliant with the WPC 1.1. specification.
Devices' occupy 70% smaller footprint than FPGAs
Designed to allow designers to reduce the number of gigabit serial links required for a range of end equipment, TI's pair of 10-Gbps serial link aggregator ICs are claimed to be an industry first. The TLK10081 1- to 8-channel and TLK10022 dual-channel ICs aggregate and de-aggregate point-to-point serial data streams for transmission over backplanes, copper cables and optical links.
Automotive USB charging
TI's USB charging demonstration features TI's latest TPS2546 and TPS2511 power interface circuits, which enable universal charging to support smartphones and tablets. These devices are shown being used in end-equipment devices charging from a car charger.
