Motor drivers reduce spin-up time to just seconds

Reducing spin-up time to just seconds, a 12V motor driver family has been introduced by Texas Instruments. Making tuning stepper and brushed DC motors easier, the DRV8846 driver integrates a proprietary adaptive current control technology that automatically tunes motor performance. By using a simple PWM control interface and minimal external components, the DRV8848 simplifies designs.

FDAs bring AC performance to DC-coupled applications

Two FDAs (Fully Differential Amplifiers), which provide DC-coupled applications with AC performance to improve system capabilities and overall performance, have been released by Texas Instruments. According to the company, the LMH3401 and LMH5401 FDAs provide higher bandwidth and slew rate, and lower distortion than existing ADC drivers.

New VDE digital isolation standard is a game-changer

PRU software support makes for easy real-time programming

The Programmable Real-time Unit (PRU) on Texas Instruments' Sitara processors enables customers to differentiate their products by offloading real-time processing from the ARM core. A 200MHz low-latency multicore co-processor, the PRU is optimised for deterministic, real-time processing, with local peripherals and memory which allows customers to save time and money by removing costly FPGAs or ASICs from system designs.
