Advanced analysis added to HDMI receiver testing

The addition of advanced analysis and characterisation support for HDMI 2.0 receiver testing has expanded Tektronix’s portfolio of HDMI test solution. The new HDMXpress provides complete support for HDMI test pattern generation, auto-calibration and margin testing, eliminating the needs for manual pattern creation.

Tektronix joins OpTecBB to augment engineer support

Tektronix has joined OpTecBB, the competence network for optical technologies and micro-system technology in the region of Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany.  By becoming a member of OpTecBB, Tektronix can now further support engineers testing optical communication components, modules and systems, especially with the DPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope.

4K analysis features at Las Vegas broadcasting event

Tektronix will feature expanded options for 4K analysis and monitoring –  at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2015 event in Las Vegas (April 13 – 19). Optical modulation analyser supports 400G standard

Tektronix has unveiled its new 45 GHz optical modulation analyser at the OFC 2015 exhibition and conference taking place this week in Los Angeles (Mar24-26). The OMA is capable of supporting the latest 100G and next-gen 400G communications standards. With support for single-carrier or multi-carrier systems, the analyser is tightly integrated with the TektronixDPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope also announced at OFC.

Test solution meets MIPI M-PHY v3.1 specification

Tektronix announced the first physical layer transmitter characterisation and debug solution for the MIPI M-PHY v3.1 specification recently approved by the MIPI Alliance. The new solution includes support for MIPI M-PHY High Speed Gears 1, 2 and 3, PWM Mode (G0-G7), and SYS Mode and can be used with Tektronix MSO/DPO 70000DX oscilloscopes and P7600 series probes.

Test solution readied for LPDDR4 2015 adoption

JEDEC LPDDR4 is slated for adoption in 2015, not too far off. It builds on the current generation of LPDDR3 technology and will deliver improved data rates up to 4.26 Gb/sec and use an ultra-low voltage core to reduce power consumption by approximately 35 percent to enhance performance in mobile devices like smartphones, wearables & tablets.

Software upgrade cuts 4K and UHDTV1 hardware costs

To eliminate the need for customers to purchase costly hardware replacements in order to shoot, prepare and deliver 4K/UHDTV1 programming Tektronix has developed software to enable its WFM8200 and WFM8300 waveform monitors and WVR8200 and WVR8300 rasterisers to be upgraded to support 4K and UHDTV1.

Software supports P25 transmitter compliance testing

A cost-effective compliance transmitter test solution for the Project 25 (P25) Common Air Interface (CAI) Phase 1 and Phase 2 standard has been introduced by Tektronix. The new software gives RF test engineers and safety agencies push-button measurements with automated pass/fail reporting and runs on Tektronix spectrum analysers, Tektronix Windows-based oscilloscopes, and on SignalVu-PC linked with the MDO4000B Mixed Domain Oscilloscope Series.

1951 oscilloscope wins Tektronix competition

A UK-based collector of Tektronix oscilloscopes has won the test and measurement giant’s competition to find the oldest working oscilloscope in Europe. The winner, chosen from 240 entries, is Alan Ainslie, from Farnham in Surrey, with his Model 511AD manufactured in 1951. He wins an MDO4000 Series Mixed Domain Oscilloscope worth €20,700, one of the newest oscilloscopes in the Tektronix portfolio.
