The LBC+ series of RF chokes, suitable for currents of up to 4450mA at saturation currents of up to 7700mA, has been released by TDK. According to the company, this is an increase of up to 80% compared to previous versions. The chokes, which provide inductance values from 1.0 to 470µH, are manufactured in both axial and radial types.
Active harmonic filters optimise power quality
Optimising power quality, the EPCOS PQSine series of active harmonic filters has been introduced by TDK. The filters are designed for 3-phase networks, with and without neutral conductors, at voltages from 200 to 480VAC and 50/60Hz. Capable of analysing and neutralising harmonics up to the 50th order, the filters are available in steps of 60A up to a maximum rated current of 600A.
Enable cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth & sat nav on one antenna
Preventing harmonic effects from impairing GPS performance in smartphones, the R159 and D5107 FEMs have been unveiled by TDK. Claimed to be best-in-class extractors, the devices enable the coexistence of cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth and satellite navigation services on one antenna.
WLAN-Bluetooth filters are suitable for smartphones
Enabling the coexistence of cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth and satellite navigation services on the same antenna, TDK has claimed that the B8831 WLAN-Bluetooth filter offers best-in-class performance and size. The device achieves a much better Q factor than existing components and features a significantly lower insertion loss of only 1.1dB and high out-of-band selectivity.
Filters boast broad capacitance & temperature spectrum
A series of 3-terminal feedthrough filters, designed to meet automotive demands for EMC components in emerging safety and infotainment applications, has been introduced by TDK Corporation. Available in case sizes EIA 0603 to EIA 1206, the filters have rated capacitance values ranging from 22pF to 1μF and rated voltages from 10V to 100V.
Tool allows for accurate simulation of MLCCs
The DC Bias Model is the latest addition to TDK's portfolio of technical support tools. The tool allows designers to simulate DC bias characteristics of MLCCs, even when the DC bias applied to the MLCCs varies. Due to the company's advanced electronic component model, the capacitance in the simulation changes dynamically with a changing DC bias voltage - an 'industry first' according to TDK.
Revised data book for filters is published
A revised data book for EPCOS EMC filters has been published by TDK. This covers the range of filter solutions for applications in industrial electronics, telecommunications and data technology. Frequency converter solutions such as power chokes, output chokes and filters are covered in particular detail.
Control up to 32 thyristor modules via RS485
TDK has introduced the BR7000-I-TH and BR7000-I-TH/S485 power factor controllers. The BR7000-I-TH offers 12 relay outputs for capacitor contactors and 12 transistor outputs for thyristor modules and the BR7000-I-TH/S485 features an additional RS485 bus interface that allows up to another 32 EPCOS TSM-LC-S thyristor modules to be controlled. This bus interface also enables bidirectional communication with the thyristor modules.
