TANAKA establishes production system in China for fuel cell electrode catalysts
TANAKA Kikinzoku Kogyo K.K., which operates an industrial precious metals business as a core company of TANAKA Precious Metals, announces that it has signed a technical assistance agreement with Chengdu Guangming Paite Precious Metal, an affiliated company in China, in the area of fuel cell electrode catalyst manufacturing technologies.

Breakthrough ruthenium film deposition process
The process prevents oxidation of substrates and achieves ultra-thin films of high quality and low resistance through a two-stage ALD (atomic layer deposition) process using the liquid ruthenium precursor 'TRuST'. TANAKA Holdings, has announced that its subsidiary, TANAKA Denshi Kogyo K.K. which is engaged in the production of various types of bonding wires, will establish a plant in Hangzhou City, China, for the production of aluminum bonding wires for power semiconductors.
Kit detects the ZIKA virus in blood in 10 to 15 minutes
Tanaka has developed the world's first kit able to directly detect the ZIKA virus (ZIKV) in blood. The kit is capable of rapid ZIKV detection in just 10 to 15 minutes. Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo plans to supply samples for clinical evaluation with a view to collaboration with domestic and overseas medical manufacturers.
Electrode catalysts for Honda’s Clarity Fuel Cell vehicle
The Clarity Fuel Cell vehicle from Honda, which went on sale in March, is using platinum electrode catalysts from Tanaka Holdings in its fuel cells.

Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo K.K. has developed a cadmium-free electrical contact material for use primarily in vehicles and smartphones with what is said to be improved sliding wear resistance compared to existing products. Full scale production of CDF-10 will start on December 1st.
Cup-type plating lab equipment for wafers offers equivalent films to mass-production machines
Tanaka Holdings has announced that Electroplating Engineers of Japan, Limited (EEJA), which operates the Tanaka Precious Metals' plating business, has developed and launched the RAD-Plater cup-type ultra-compact plating laboratory equipment for semiconductor wafers, which achieves equivalent films to mass-production machines.
'Precious Metals Research Grants' awarded
Tanaka Holdings have announced the recipients of the Tanaka Precious Metals' 2014 'Precious Metals Research Grants.' After a strict examination of the results, Associate Professor Yu-Ching Lin of Tohoku University and Assistant Professor Tsuyoshi Minami of Yamagata University were selected to receive the 2m yen 'Gold Award.'
Electroless plating process enables economical OFET formation

Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo K.K.(1) and SUSS MicroTec KK will begin joint development of pattern transfer and bonding technology using sub-micron sized (1/10,000mm) gold particles.
