PMBus presentations at APEC 2016 Industry Session
Since being introduced in 2005 the PMBus power management protocol has been widely adopted and is the accepted standard for digital power management. The PMBus specification working group recently released Revision 1.3 which includes enhancements while maintaining backward compatibility with the older Revision 1.2 protocol.
Revised PMBus standard speeds implementation
The System Management Interface Forum (SMIF) has launched an important new revision to its PMBus standard. The new revision 1.3.1, which supersedes revision 1.3, includes numerous clarifications to streamline and speed implementation.
PMBus sessions to be held at APEC 2015
At this year’s APEC (Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition), which takes place from 15th to 19th March in Charlotte, North Carolina, the System Management Interface Forum (SMIF) will be presenting a number of papers centered around PMBus standards and applications. The SMIF will also use the event to launch PMBus revision 1.3.1, a revision to the PMBus standard.
Update harmonises SMBus Version 3.0 with I2C & PMBus
The System Management Interface Forum (SMIF) has announced the latest version of its System Management Bus (SMBus) specification. Version 3.0 is backwards compatible and incorporates a number of major revisions to ease protocol implementation, significantly broaden performance capabilities, ensure compatibility with the latest topologies and harmonise the specification with the I2C and Power Management Bus (PMBus) specifications.
