3D printed protection equipment to help with COVID-19
Stratasys has announced a global mobilisation of the company’s 3D printing resources and expertise to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, spanning its Stratasys, GrabCAD, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing and partner network with donated printing capacity across all regions. The initial focus is on providing thousands of disposable face shields for use by medical personnel.
Cost-effective 3D printer for enterprises
Unleashing the power of 3D printed realism to a broader range of product designers and enterprise shops, Stratasys has unveiled the new J826 3D Printer at 3DEXPERIENCE World. At about half the price of other J8-series PolyJet printers, the J826 combines part realism and productivity, including full PANTONE-Validated colour and multi-material 3D printing.
3D printer brings simulation to functional anatomical models
Stratasys is further extending its commitment to the medical industry with the new J750 Digital Anatomy 3D Printer. Designed to replicate the feel, responsiveness, and biomechanics of human anatomy in medical models - the system improves surgical preparedness and training while helping bring new medical devices to market faster.
Production of functional air intake prototype cuts manufacturing time
Briggs Automotive Company (BAC), the British manufacturer of the recently launched Mono R, and Stratasys have revealed the impact additive manufacturing is having on the design and production of the latest edition to the BAC elite supercar offering. When faced with detrimental delays to the design process of an essential airbox, the team turned to Stratasys FDM additive manufacturing to produce fully functional prototypes in r...
BioMimics: highly realistic 3D-printed models of human anatomy
Stratasys has unveiled BioMimics – a highly advanced capability to 3D print medical models that are engineered to meet demands of the industry’s leading hospitals, researchers and medical device manufacturers. Offered initially in North America as a service through Stratasys Direct Manufacturing, BioMimics provides incredibly realistic, functionally-accurate 3D printed replicas of complex anatomical structures - empowering more effect...
A different dimension to pit lane engineering
This Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix will see McLaren adopt a slightly different approach to providing parts to its Formula 1 cars. The Woking-based racing team are planning to 3D print parts at trackside, which it believes will give the team an advantage if they need to make last minute changes.
Series of 3D printed death masks presented at London Design Museum
The official launch of the ‘The New Ancient’ 3D printed art and design collection has been announced by 3D printing and additive manufacturing company, Stratasys. The collection includes ‘Vespers’, a series of exploratory 3D printed death masks, designed by Neri Oxman and her team, which will be unveiled to the public at the grand reopening of London’s Design Museum next week.
Modern technology meets ancient wonder
For centuries, legend and mystery has surrounded the seven wonders of the ancient world. Not least because only one of the seven structures (the Great Pyramid at Giza) is still standing - the others have been long lost in the myths of time. Indeed, the other six were destroyed (mostly by fire) long before photography or any renaissance artist could accurately capture what they looked like.
Stratasys acquires MakerBot as VCs discover key to 3D printing money
Stratasys announced on Wednesday that it was to acquire MakerBot, the New York based privately held manufacturer of desktop 3D printers. No surprise there you might think, although the Stratasys shareholders may have been a little taken aback by the price. MakerBot was founded in 2009 with an aim to develop cheap, open-sourced, 3D printers based on Stratasys’ own FDM technology which had at that time just come off patent.
Additive manufacturing material-property study is first of its kind
Stratasys Inc announces findings from an independent and extensive performance study characterising the effects of time, temperature and environment on the mechanical properties of PC (polycarbonate) and ABS plastic parts made via the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process.
