Curiosity IoT platform unveiled

The new Curiosity IoT platform has been unveiled by Spirit a new standard in how IoT is managed and secured. Enterprises will now be able to manage IoT devices and connectivity over the air across multiple SIM profiles. Intelligence from device data will be generated instantly through the dedicated, distributed and vitalised core, built together with the new operating system.

DC servo controllers on show at SPS IPC Drives

Sprint Electric is to present its latest range of DC servo controllers at SPS/IPC/Drives 2015 in Nuremberg, Germany. The drives of the extended XLV range are miniature, fast response DC motor speed controllers, offered in a compact, easy to use DIN rail mounting package. They are designed for use with permanent magnet brushed DC servo motors rated from 4 to 12A.

Motor controllers feature digital DC drive technology

A line of DC motor controllers, which incorporate digital DC drive technology, has been introduced by Sprint Electric. The line includes a wide range of DC motor control, with over 450 models covering both one-phase and three-phase, regenerative and non-regenerative DC motor applications, together with field controllers, digital slip ring motor controllers and external thyristor stack controllers.

Thyristor stack controller makes retrofitting easy

An external thyristor stack controller, called the PLXD, has been introduced by Sprint Electric. Supplied with the latest field bus protocols, the controller can be designed into a new installation or easily retrofitted to an existing thyristor power stack where the control electronics need updating or require adding into a field bus topography network.

New joint managing directors at Sprint Electric

Sprint Electric announces two new managing directors. Dr. Mark Gardiner and Gary Keen have been appointed joint Managing Directors and run the company from 11 June 2014 on. The former managing directors, Edwin Prescott, co-founder of Sprint Electric, and R&D director Dr. Aris Potamianos, will remain at Sprint Electric as technical advisors on a part time basis.

Ethernet-based smart automation for drives and systems

New high power field controller from Sprint Electric

Sprint Electric has added 3 phase field controllers to the product range of DC drives for control of high current excitation fields on DC motors. The new product with the brand name QLX will be introduced in November at SPS/IPC/Drives, the international trade fair for electric automation, systems and components, in Nuremberg, Germany.

SPS/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg big success for Sprint Electric

For the fourth time, Sprint Electric exhibited at SPS/IPC/Drives, the international trade fair for electric automation, systems and components, that took place from 23 to 25 November 2010 in Nuremberg, Germany. Sprint Electric’s newly designed stand, covering 36 square meters and strategically situated in Hall 1, attracted visitors from 36 countries.
