Supersize IR detector for space observation programmes
Sofradir has announced it is developing its first very large format (2048x2048) 15µm-pitch infrared detector. The supersize IR detector is designed for future scientific space observation equipment and Extremely Large Telescopes (ELT) for ground observation aimed at tackling major scientific challenges.
Sofradir delivers 24 IR detectors for ESA mission
Sofradir has delivered 24 ShortWave IR (SWIR) detectors to Airbus Defence and Space (ADS) for the European Space Agency (ESA) Sentinel-2 land monitoring and food security studies mission. ADS provided two MultiSpectral Imagers (MSI) for the Sentinel-2 mission that offer high-resolution IR optical imagery. They will provide high-resolution optical imaging to monitor the Earth and thereby provide continuity for the SPOT and Landsat missions.
Compact VGA IR detector suits aerospace & military
At AeroIndia, Bangalore, Sofradir demonstrated SWap-C LEO, a next-gen VGA format IR detector optimised for size, weight, cost and performance. It meets the challenges of modern military platforms demanding integration of smaller, lighter, low power consumption devices. Sofradir has cut the size and weight of SWap-C LEO while maintaining its high image resolution and detection range.
