Gen2 Computer-on-Module standard takes off
The Standardisation Group for Embedded Technologies e.V. (SGET) announces two important new milestones for its Open Standard Module (OSM) specification.
SGET announces new chairman
SGET, an international not-for-profit association of companies and organisations that collaboratively develop independent specifications for embedded computer technology, held its triennial management board election. The group elected a new chairman and re-elected four members of the board to lead the association through 2024.
Miniaturisation: from credit card to postage stamp
SGET e.V. has announced the release 1.0 of the new OSM Computer-on-Module standard. OSM, which is short for Open Standard Module, defines one of the first standards for directly solderable and scalable embedded computer modules. It also marks a new achievement in the miniaturisation of modular COM/carrier designs, replacing credit card-sized modules with postage stamp-sized ones.
SMARC 2.0 design guide published at embedded world
The final version 2.0 of SGET Standardisation Group for Embedded Technologies e.V.'s SMARC design guide has been announced. The new design guide which applies to the latest SMARC 2.0 specification will be shortly released on the SGET website. Last year the SDT.01 workgroup published the new SMARC 2.0 specification to enhance the feature set and repurpose selected V1.1 pins that are currently underused for new interfaces.
SGET e.V. hosting own stand at electronica
electronica 2016 will see the international Standards Group for Embedded Technologies e.V. (SGET) hosting for the first time the group’s own exhibition stand, in Munich from 8th-11th November.
SGET team SDT.01 announces final specification SMARC 2.0
SGET Standardisation Group for Embedded Technologies e.V. announces the final version 2.0 of its SMARC specification. The final specification document was just released at the SGET homepage. It is now freely available for download on the SGET website according to the SGET terms of membership – both for SMARC developers as well as for users and carrier providers.
SDT.01 announces its updated Specification SMARC 2.0
SGET Standardisation Group for Embedded Technologies will shortly release the updated version 2.0 of its SMARC specification. All participating companies in the SDT.01 have recognised the need for an update of the SMARC specification 1.1, which was published in December 2012.
