Semikron has added dual module versions to its MiniSKiiP IGBT power semiconductor module family, more than doubling the range’s power capability to 90kW. The portfolio of the new MiniSKiiP Dual covers 150A-300A/650V, 150A-300A/1200V and 100A-200A/1700V.

SEMIKRON Group today announced the restructuring of the company to become more responsive to global developments. These developments refer to market flexibility requirements as well as to corporate organization structures.

After acquiring the majority of Compact Dynamics in May 2010, Semikron International GmbH has now acquired the remaining 30 percent of shares that were retained by the three Managing Directors, Maximilian Eck, Bernhard Hoffmann and Dr. Andreas Gründl. All three will leave Compact Dynamics GmbH on February 28 2013, as scheduled, and will remain active consultants to the company.

SEMIKRON has announced volume production of its SKiiP 4 range of Intelligent Power Modules. The new modules outperform all other IGBT modules in the market in terms of power density and feature an integrated driver and heat sink. The power silicon in SKiiP 4 modules can be operated at a junction temperature of up to 175°C.

The MiniSKiiP IPM from SEMIKRON sets a new benchmark for power density in 1200V Intelligent Power Modules. At a weight of 55g and a volume of 49cm³, this module is lighter and more compact than any other IPM in this power class. The design yields optimum switching properties with regard to electromagnetic interference. The module was developed for inverter applications up to 15kW.
