SMD fuses qualified by the ESA for use in space

Following an intensive evaluation and qualification process in cooperation with representatives of the European Space and Research and Technology Center (ESTEC), SCHURTER's HCSF fuse has been certified. Eight years after the successful qualification of the MGA-S, SCHURTER is the only European supplier of fuses with this qualification.

IEC outlet features IDC terminals to speed assembly

  SCHURTER announces its latest IEC appliance outlet with insulation displacement contact (IDC) terminals, the 4710. The outlet provides increased power ratings over the popular 6610 series for heavier duty PDU applications. The 4710 is a J style outlet according to IEC 60320, rated 20A at 250VAC by UL/CSA and 16A at 250VAC by ENEC.

Metal line switches feature multicoloured illumination

SCHURTER is expanding its PSE, piezo metal switch and MCS 30, mechanical metal switch series, with new illumination possibilities powered by variable input voltages. Based on the used RGB colour technology, it’s now possible to indicate up to seven illumination colour options with just one switch. The variable power supply offers a homogenous and brilliant illumination within a voltage range of 5 to 28VDC.

Compact power entry module with filter features ground line choke

SCHURTER’s popular power entry module, KFA series, is now equipped with an additional ground line choke to suppress high frequency interference arising from ground loops on the ground line. In addition, the recently added ground line choke improves asymmetric attenuation in higher frequencies in medical filter versions.

Components with elevated glow-wire ratings

When it comes to household appliances used in unattended operation, the provisions of standard IEC 60335-1 have placed higher requirements regarding Glow-Wire Ignition Temperature (GWIT). These more stringent requirements thus also apply to installed components such as power sockets, fuse holders and connectors. For this reason, all components carrying current must meet the requirements of glow-wire tests as specified in IEC 60695-2-12 and -13.

Switches available with raised symbols, letters & numbers

SCHURTER has announced that its PSE HI switches can now be delivered with raised symbols, letters and numbers in addition to various colours, or legend inscriptions. The switches feature an anodised aluminium surface that can be pre-formed with raised symbols for long-term wear and excellent user haptics.

Power entry module offers IP54 & IP65 protection

SCHURTER is pleased to announce that its power entry module series 5707 now offers IP54 protection with V-Lock cord sets at the power input, in addition to IP65 protection to the equipment. The sealed module is suitable for use in medical equipment exposed to leaks, drips and spills, as well as equipment subject to routine washing.

Universal modular fuse offers 1500A breaking capacity

SCHURTER’s Universal Modular fuse, UMT-H, offers a 1500A breaking capacity at rated voltages of 277VAC / 250VDC. The compact, high performance fuse now has VDE approval in addition to UL approval. This time-lag fuse provides overcurrent and short circuit protection in various industrial control applications, including intrinsically safe applications.

Inlet & cord connectors for high temperature environments

Extending its range of high-temperature power inlets and outlets which meet IEC/UL 60320, SCHURTER has announced the 1681 series appliance inlets, as well as the 1658 and 1659 series straight and angled cord connectors. Fuse inserter, extractor and cover in one

With the ESO 10.3x38, SCHURTER introduces a multifunctional fuse cover for use on printed circuit boards. The ESO 10.3x38 can be used simultaneously as an inserter, extractor and cover for fuses. Designed for use with SCHURTER’s CSO fuse clips, and the ASO 10.3x38 fuse, the combination provides touch-safe circuit protection up to 1500V DC.

Power connector now mates with V-Lock cord sets

Suitable for use in medical devices, IT and audio equipment used on stage, the KEA series power connector from Schurter has been enhanced so that it now mates with V-Lock cord sets. With 1- or 2-pole fuseholder, the compact power entry module's V-Lock compatible feature prevents unintended disconnection of the power from the equipment.

Schurter introduces IP54 rated IEC appliance inlets

SCHURTER has announced two appliance inlets in splash-water proofed versions. The appliance inlet 6100-3 with a sealing kit has a protection degree of IP 54, both into the equipment and to the cord connector. The 5707 power entry module with line filter offers IP 65 protection into the equipment as a standard feature. With the optional sealing kit, the coupling to the cable connector is additionally protected to IP 54.

SCHURTER introduces UMF 250 compact SMD fuse

SCHURTER has today announced an expansion of its successful UMF 250 SMD fuse series with nine additional rated currents. With this extension, the series is now complete with rated currents ranging from 500 mA to 10 A. The compact, quick-acting SMD fuse thus provides overcurrent and short circuit protection for an even wider range of applications.
