Capacitors meet latest IEC standard for automotive use
Vishay has launched a new series of AEC-Q200-qualified, AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors designed to provide high reliability for Class X1 (440VAC) and Y2 (300VAC) automotive applications in accordance with IEC 60384-14.3, 3rd edition. This AY2 series is available at distributor Rutronik.
Surge protection modules boast IP66 waterproof design
New surge protection modules LSP05 and LSP10 developed by Littelfuse are now available at distributor Rutronik. Constructed with Littelfuse thermally protected varistors, they provide robust surge current handling capability for outdoor and commercial LED lighting fixtures. One of the modules includes world’s first series-connected, 20kA-capable indicating surge arrestor.

Osram Opto Semiconductors has added two new types to the Duris S5 family that are now available from distributor Rutronik. The LEDs with a very high CRI of more than 90 are ideal for the home and for shop lighting, for example installed in downlights or LED retrofit lamps.
Infrared receivers target low-speed data transmission
Rutronik is marketing two new miniaturised infrared receivers (IR) TSDP34138/56 and TSDP34338/56 from Vishay that are designed specifically for low-speed data transmission. They are optimised for low-complexity, low-cost signalling in metering, sensor, automation and gaming applications.
Bluetooth low energy stack gets upgrade
Rutronik is presenting the S110 SoftDevice v7.0, the next major release of Nordic Semiconductor’s Bluetooth low energy stack for the nRF51822 Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and 2.4GHz proprietary System-on-Chip (SoC) and the nRF51422 ANT and ANT/Bluetooth low energy multiprotocol SoCs. It enables simple, secure and reliable field updates of both stack and application and makes it easier to design ULP wireless products.

Infra-red LED slimmed down to lowest ever profile
A flush-mountable infrared LED, means remote control functionality can now be incorporated in a lower profile than ever. The T-Midled SFH 4140 has been developed by Osram Opto Semiconductors adding to its portfolio of remote control transmitters. Rutronik will use the Sensor + Test exhibition in Nuremberg to present Micronas’s extended Hall-effect sensor portfolio developed to withstand the harshest environmental conditions from - 40°C up to 150°C ambient temperature. All clear: 940nm I-R emitting diodes feature SMD side-view packages
Rutronik now has two new 940nm high-speed infrared emitting diodes in compact 3.2mm x 2.51mm x 1.2mm clear SMD side-view packages from Vishay. The new diodes VSMY14940 and VSMB14940 combine high radiant intensity and optical power with fast switching times.
