Diodes offer voltage transient protection
The new TPSMF4L series of Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diodes from Littelfuse are now available at distributor Rutronik. They are specifically designed to protect sensitive automotive electronic equipment and portable devices from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events.
DC/DC converters focus on rail applications
The new RP20-FR series of isolated 20W DC/DC converters from RECOM are now available at distributor Rutronik. Especially designed for railway applications, they are also ideal for industrial and telecommunication applications. The compact 2inx1in modules of the RP20-FR series feature a wide 4:1 input voltage range (9-36V, 18-75V, 43-160V) and therefore cover all standard battery-board levels including the ±40% tolerance margin.
Schottky barrier rectifiers deliver fast switching speed
MBR Series Schottky Barrier Rectifiers, the latest Littelfuse devices based on silicon Schottky diode technology, are available at Rutronik. The two new series are designed to meet the general requirements of commercial and industrial applications. These Schottky Barrier Rectifiers come with extremely fast switching speed, very low forward voltage drop, low leakage and high junction temperature capability.
Look both ways: TFT gets wider viewing angles
The Super Fine Technology (SFT) by TNE gives TFTs viewing angles up to 88° in each direction. It is available in several sizes at distributor Rutronik as of now. SFT is a specific form of the IPS technology, developed by NLT Technologies. This technology can realise very wide viewing angles in all four directions.
Transient voltage suppressors target tablets & laptops
The new VTVSxxASMF series of surface-mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) protection diodes from Vishay are now available at Rutronik. They are the industry’s first to feature a 2% breakdown voltage tolerance. They are ideal for line transient voltage protection in space-constrained electronics, such as laptops, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, and external hard drives.
Flash memories span 1Gbit, 2Gbit and 4Gbit
The portfolio of memory products for embedded applications has bee expanded at distributor Rutronik with the new line-up of 24nm SLC NAND flash memory products from Toshiba. They are compatible with the widely used Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). New functional requirements increase the demand of embedded memory, for software (boot programs, firmware, embedded OS) and data (including log data).
Free workshop focuses on MCUs, sensors for IoT
A workshop taking a close look at microcontrollers and sensors for the Internet of Things (IoT) is being organised by Rutronik. The distributor is collaborating on the event with Intel, Bosch Sensortec and Melexis. Participants will learn about the design possibilities of combining Intel’s latest Quark microcontrollers with sensors from Bosch Sensortec and Melexis.
ARM-based starter kits provide development shortcut
With its new ARM-based Starter Kits powered by NXP and TI processors, Advantech says it is providing a shortcut for ARM platform evaluation and development. The new starter kits are available at distributor Rutronik as of now. The kit includes key elements of a development environment including main boards with CPU cables, adapter cards, LCD panel and power adapter.
Full colour OLED module comes in circular form
A round active matrix OLED module from DLC enriches the established application sections and opens new markets. It is available with touch screen from distributor Rutronik. The active full colour OLED is offered in a circular form with a diameter of 40mm. In comparison to DLC’s round passive OLED, it has a much higher resolution of 400 x 400 pixels.
Crystals follow smaller size trend
Three new crystal series, which follow the trend towards the usage of smaller size crystals have been launched by Epson. They are available at distributor Rutronik. The new 2.0x1.6mm size TCXO/VC-TCXO series TG2016SBN contains the built-in 2nd generation of Epson internal IC. It is the TCXO with the lowest cost offered by Epson due to re-engineered package and cost optimised production.

A new 2-port EtherCAT PCI Universal card, the PCI-1203 from Advantech is available at Rutronik. It is a ready-to-use EtherCAT development platform for all PC-based industrial automation. The EtherCAT protocol stack is executed autonomously on the PCI card. The PCI-1203 comes with a 650MHz dual-core ARM processor.
Power MOSFET offers increased reliability
By adding the new 650V EF series, distributor Rutronik now presents Vishay’s expanded portfolio of fast body diode n-channel power MOSFETs.
