Tiny 3-axis accelerometer combines performance & value

Kionix, a ROHM Group Company, announces the release of the KXTJ3, a new 3-axis accelerometer offering unprecedented value while providing the performance of much a more expensive accelerometer in a tiny, 2x2x0.9mm form factor. The KXTJ3 is a drop-in replacement for the KXTJ2, and offers improvements in a number of aspects, from better noise performance to extended range, to improve interrupt functionality.

Single-cell power supplies compatible with thermal printhead

The availability of a new thermal printhead has been announced by ROHM designed for receipt printers in payment terminals capable of being driven by a single-cell li-ion battery. Thermal printheads are electronic devices that print on special media (i.e. thermal paper) by precisely and repeatedly generating and dissipating heat. Conventional thermal printheads for payment terminals are driven by 2-cell li-ion batteries.

ROHM exhibits at CeBIT 2017 for the first time

This year Japan was selected as a partner country for the first time.

Optical sensor aids heart rate monitoring

ROHM has recently announced the availability of an optical sensor for heart rate monitoring optimised for wearable devices such as sports bands and smart watches. The BH1790GLC leverages proprietary analog circuit technology and optical sensor expertise to improve sensitivity, allowing pulse waves to be detected with high accuracy, even with low LED brightness, resulting in class-leading low power consumption.

All-digital PLL ups performance for IoT radio transceivers

The world’s smallest reflector-type 3-color LED

ROHM has recently announced the availability of an ultra-compact reflector-type LED optimised for consumer devices such as matrix light sources for gaming and wearables that demand increased miniaturisation. The MSL0402RGBU reflector-type 3-color LED leverages miniaturisation technology cultivated over many years to achieve the smallest size in the industry (1.8mmx1.6mm).

KNX RF stack enables push-button configuration

After having released the KNX software technology for the ERLTM (Emetteur Radio Linky) for the pilot project Smart Electric Lyon, Gossé & Tech Tapko has provided the first KNX RF Stack on RF multi and security for push-button configuration. LAPIS Semiconductor, a ROHM Group company has partnered with GT Tapko to provide a driver to the ML7345 RF Chipset for the KNX RF Technology.

ROHM has recently announced the availability of a power management IC (PMIC) developed for the latest announced Intel processor (code named Apollo Lake) designed for 2-in-1 tablets and cloud books where reduced power consumption and a thinner, smaller form factor are increasingly demanded. The BD2670MWV provides all power supplies required by Apollo Lake platforms while contributing to lower power consumption.
