67GHz test setup presented at 5G Global Summit
Rohde & Schwarz has presented a compact test setup for generating and analysing signals up to 67 GHz at the 5G Global Summit in Busan, South Korea. The test setup consists of the up to 20 GHz R&S SMW200A high-end vector signal generator, a harmonic mixer from subsidiary Radiometer Physics GmbH (RPG) and the R&S FSW67 high-end signal and spectrum analyser.
Local team fields full test squad at electronica
electronica in Munich (Nov 11-14) is a home game for the Munich-based locals Rohde & Schwarz so it will not miss the opportunity to parade a tranche of instruments before the show's international audience. These range from general-purpose to high-end measuring instruments, for the lab and the production line.
EuMW 2014: Radar target simulator eyes automotive market
Rohde & Schwarz chose European Microwave Week to take the wraps off an agreement to sell the ARTS turnkey radar target simulator from ITS and miro-sys. The market target is automotive radar now being installed in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), to quickly and precisely measure the speed and distance of multiple objects, regardless of weather conditions.
EuMW 2014: Network analyser extension unit launched
At European Microwave Week Rohde & Schwarz has introduced an extension unit for its R&S ZVA high end network analyser family. The R&S ZVAX-TRM can be combined with an analyser to yield a powerful, compact and highly customisable system. The extension unit conditions the signals from the network analyser as required for a given task and either returns them to the analyser or outputs them via its integrated high-power test ports.
Oscilloscope price offer woos early Christmas shoppers
Rohde & Schwarz has created a test and measurement price offer that will save buyers up to 40 per cent. It is based on a specially priced HAMEG HMO3000 mixed signal oscilloscope plus two logic probes and all available software options free of charge. Hobbyists may want to put this on their Christmas list, and professional users may see it as an offer not to be spurned. Either party should not tarry too long as the promotion only runs until De...
Triggering and decoding option enhances oscilloscopes
Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the RTO-K60 option to support developers involved in designing, verifying and debugging modules with USB interfaces. It enables the R&S RTO oscilloscope to trigger on USB 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 and HSIC-specific protocol data, decode the acquired waveforms and display the protocol content in an easy-to-read format. The hardware-supported trigger implementation of the R&S RTO provides high acquisition rates and mi...
Serial triggering option aids design debug
Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the RTO-K40 MIPI RFFE serial triggering and decoding option. It is solution that enables developers of RF frontends and modules with RF frontend (RFFE) control interface to verify and debug designs and put these components into operation. The R&S RTO oscilloscope with its high acquisition rates and minimal blind times is able to trigger on MIPI RFFE-specific protocol data. The decoded protocol content is dis...
Power supplies pack in extra functionality
Tracking, sequencing and FuseLink offer extra functionality included in the new R&S HMC804x power supplies from Rohde & Schwarz. Data logging and an integrated energy meter are further features in products costing below 1000 Euro. The R&S HMC804x power supplies developed by Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary HAMEG Instruments are equipped with one (R&S HMC8041), two (R&S HMC8042) or three (R&S HMC8043) channels
Broadcast test system gets Digital TV Group thumbs-up
The Digital TV Group's Broadcasting Conformance Test Lab (DTG Testing) has successfully tested the Rohde & Schwarz BTC and the R&S AVBrun D-Book test suite. D-Book describes the interoperability requirements for digital terrestrial broadcast receivers in the UK. The individual chapters contain detailed test scenarios for testing the functionality, behaviour and performance of these receivers. Receivers that pass these tests can offer dist...
Entry-level oscilloscopes cover 50MHz to 100MHz bandwidth
Mixed signal oscilloscopes that can measure analogue and digital signals simultaneously in the three figure price segment have been developed by Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary HAMEG Instruments. The instruments can be expanded at any time from 50 MHz to 70 MHz or even 100 MHz bandwidth by means of a simple upgrade option.
VNA enables uni- and bidirectional measurements
Production line measurements such as characterisation of passive mobile components are a target application for the R&S ZND vector network analyser from Rohde & Schwarz. It features two test ports, and the base unit is designed for unidirectional measurements from 100 kHz to 4.5 GHz. Its easy-to-use options provide for flexible upgrades.
Rohde & Schwarz, Broadcom agree Bluetooth test license
Rohde & Schwarz has signed a Manufacturing Test License (MTL) agreement with Broadcom. Through the MTL agreement, Rohde & Schwarz can provide certified verification test solutions to Broadcom WLAN and Bluetooth customers. The Broadcom Manufacturing Test License agreement is a license and validation program that gives test equipment vendors access to Broadcom WLAN and Bluetooth software tools and Broadcom technical support resources.
EuMW: Microwave T&M range readied for Rome outing
For Rohde & Schwarz all roads lead to Rome and European Microwave Week (Oct7-9). On its stand just off the Appian Way the German T&M company will demonstrate its expertise across many technologies from signal generation and analysis in the microwave range to power measurement and vector network analysis in the highest frequency ranges. In addition, Rohde & Schwarz specialists will hold 16 workshops and seminars at the event.
Software solution analyses DOCSIS 3.1 signals
Rohde & Schwarz is offering a solution for analysing DOCSIS 3.1 signals. Cable TV network operators and manufacturers of cable TV network components can use the R&S DSA DOCSIS snapshot analysis software and the R&S FSW high-end spectrum analyser to carry out performance measurements.
HAMEG instruments shift to Rohde & Schwarz branding
The HAMEG Instruments range of economical, general purpose instruments will now be marketed solely under the Rohde & Schwarz brand. It is a move designed to raise the international profile of the test and measurement products. Previously, the HAMEG products had a dual logo that included the company names Rohde & Schwarz and HAMEG.
