Oscilloscope decoder options cover Manchester, NRZ coding
Trigger and decoder options for the Rohde & Schwarz RTO and RTE digital oscilloscopes have been extended. With the R&S RTx-K50, the oscilloscopes help users debug serial protocols that employ Manchester or NRZ coding. The option can be used with a variety of standardised buses such as PROFIBUS, DALI or MVB as well as with proprietary serial protocols such as are typically found in industrial environments and in the aerospace & defence...
4K expertise centre stage at IBC 2015
For IBC 2015 in Amsterdam (Sept 11-15), Rohde & Schwarz has a motto: "Rohde & Schwarz 4K: more than just resolution". And to back uo the statement the comoany will showcase the 4K enhancement added to to the VENICE ingest and production server for high-quality 4K studio productions.
EMC measurement portfolio showcased at EMC 2015
At EMC 2015 in Dresden, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate its expertise in ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) measurements. The company’s portfolio includes EMI test receivers and precompliance test receivers, highly sophisticated, harmonised system solutions, as well as the appropriate test and analysis software and broadband amplifiers.
Validate conformance test case for RCS 5.1
Rohde & Schwarz has validated the first conformance test case described in work item 186 for the IMS-based Rich Communication Suite 5.1 (RCS 5.1). Validation of the test case was carried out as part of the GCF Conformance and Interoperability Agreement Group Meeting #43 in Malaga. RCS is based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) platform and supports functions including instant messaging, presence and multimedia content sharing during a vide...
Signal analyser offers 2Hz to 85GHz single sweep
The new FSW85 high-end signal and spectrum analyser from Rohde & Schwarz covers the frequency range from 2Hz to 85GHz in a single sweep. This makes it possible for users to test baseband and RF with a single analyser. Since no external harmonic mixers are required, the analyser makes the test setup much simpler.
Hameg to be integrated into Rohde & Schwarz integration
Over the coming year Rohde & Schwarz will integrate Hameg Instruments into its Test and Measurement Division. The integration will promote growth for its Value Instruments – the company's lower-priced T&M equipment. This move is the final step in an increasingly closer relationship between the corporation and its subsidiary.
HDMI 2.0 compliance tests certified for video testers
New 6G TMDS protocol tests for the Rohde & Schwarz video testers have been successfully tested and officially certified by the HDMI Forum. This means that the VTC/VTE/VTS product family now includes additional tests that allow in-depth assessment of 4K/UltraHD consumer electronics equipment for compliance with the HDMI 2.0 interface standards.
Test options proliferate at Automotive Test Expo
A solution for testing automatic in vehicle emergency call systems will be a highlight on Rohde & Schwarz’s stand at the Automotive Testing Expo in Stuttgart (June 16-18). Based on an EU decision, eCall will be mandatory in all new car models from April 2018. ERA-Glonass, which is the Russian equivalent, was launched in spring 2015.
Decoding option aids design and debug
The RTO-K52 decoding option from Rohde & Schwarz helps developers design, verify and debug modules with 8b/10b encoded buses. At the push of a button, the R&S RTO uses the option's full autoset function to determine the channel, decision level and bit rate settings, allowing developers to quickly start measuring. All of these settings can be readjusted manually.
Phase noise tester covers frequency range up to 50GHz
The new phase noise analyser and VCO tester from Rohde & Schwarz enables ultrasensitive and ultra-fast phase noise measurements. The R&S FSWP also allows users to very easily measure pulsed sources and residual phase noise of RF components. Plus the instrument can be upgraded to a signal and spectrum analyser.
Oscilloscopes on parade at Sensor & Test exhibition
Oscilloscopes will take centre stage on Rohde & Schwarz’s stand at the Sensor & Test exhibition in Nuremberg (May 19-21). Products range from three HMO entry-level oscilloscopes with bandwidths of 50MHz to 500MHz to the mid-range RTM2000 and RTE with up to 2GHz bandwidth and the high-performance RTO oscilloscopes with up to 4GHz bandwidth.
DOCSIS 3.1 test setups aided by signal generator
Transmitting high-definition 4K UHD contents to consumers' households requires large bandwidths. Capacity requirements for IP based services are also on the rise. Enter new broadband technologies such as DOCSIS 3.1. The new DOCSIS 3.1 standard enables data rates of several Gbit/s for IP-based transmissions in cable networks. Rohde & Schwarz is offering the R&S CLGD signal generator for network component development and receiver tests.
Russian lab opts for Rohde & Schwarz wideband tester
The Certification Center Svyaz-Certificate in Russia is using the R&S CMW500 to certify ERA-GLONASS systems in line with the TR CU 018/2011 technical guideline. The wideband radio communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz is the first choice for the independent Russian test lab.
Multistandard test solution presented at Bluetooth event
The Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 wideband radio communication tester is the only instrument to support all 38 RF signaling tests specified by the Bluetooth SIG together with other cellular technologies such as LTE, LTE-A, WCDMA, GSM, CDMA2000 as well as non-cellular technologies such as WLAN and GNSS. It will be demonstrated at Bluetooth World 2015 in Santa Clara, California (April 14-15).
Software optimises automated testing using network analysers
The new R&S ZNrun software from Rohde & Schwarz assists users in configuring measurements specifically for multiport DUTs using Rohde & Schwarz vector network analysers (VNA). The user selects the VNA and any additional test equipment and sets the parameters to be measured on the DUT.
