Secure IoT showcased at RSA 2017
A shift of paradigm in IT security is becoming more and more crucial to enable scalability in future IoT infrastructures. At RSA Conference 2017 in San Francisco, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity showcases its embedded protocol and application classification solutions. These solutions promote a shift from a traditional, reactive blacklisting of known signatures to a highly pro-active whitelisting approach.
Rohde & Schwarz seals Samsung support agreement
Rohde & Schwarz mobile network testing, powered by SwissQual, and Samsung have signed an agreement effective immediately that allows access to the RF trace information on Samsung’s flagship mobile devices. This enables Rohde & Schwarz mobile network testing to continue to offer commercially available firmware in the future when integrating the latest commercial phones into their benchmarking, optimisation and monitoring solutions. ...
Test company adopts value for money theme at embedded world
Does exceptional quality and innovation have to be expensive. No is the emphatic response from Rohde & Schwarz and the test and measurement giant will prove it at embedded world in Nuremberg (March 14-16). It will feature its new entry-level T&M solutions and showcase the latest R&S RTO2000 high-performance oscilloscope up to 6GHz.
Handheld oscilloscope adds three more test options
The handheld Rohde & Schwarz Scope Rider now combines the functionality of eight instruments, which says the company makes it the most versatile oscilloscope in its class. New features include a spectrum analyser, a frequency counter and a harmonic analyser for evaluating the quality of power supplies.
6GHz oscilloscope tests IoT applications
A 6GHz model has been added to Rohde & Schwarz’s R&S RTO2000 series oscilloscopes, opening up measurements on fast communications interfaces and IoT applications. The characteristics of the compact R&S RTO2000 lab oscilloscopes enable demanding measurement tasks such as power integrity measurements.
Probe features DC voltmeter for power integrity measurements
The R&S RT-ZPR20 from Rohde & Schwarz is a new, extremely low-noise power rail probe with a bandwidth of 2GHz. Its 1:1 attenuation also ensures very good sensitivity. The large offset range of ± 60 V permits analysis of the smallest disturbance signals during power integrity measurements, even on DC power supplies with a high voltage level. The probe also features an integrated high-precision DC voltmeter.
Realtime detection prevents JavaScript-based cyberattacks
To offer enterprises and organisations advanced network solutions for protection against script-based cyberattacks, Infotecs uses realtime JavaScript detection and extraction capabilities of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity’s DPI engine in their next-generation firewall. JavaScript attacks are devastating, especially for companies and organisations. Not only do they have to deal with data breach and damage to their reputation but...
How to measure Bluetooth Low Energy devices
The video demonstrates Bluetooth Low Energy RF measurements with DTM (Direct Test Mode) using the R&S CMW wireless communications platform and the Nordic nRF52 development kit as an example.
Video tester family covers HLG-capable devices
The R&S VTx video tester family from Rohde & Schwarz has been extended to include tests for HLG-capable devices in line with the HDMI 2.0b standard. Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) is an enhancement to the high dynamic range (HDR) technique that allows good-quality replay of state-of-the-art picture material even on non-HDR-capable devices.
Phase noise measurements beyond 50GHz
The R&S FSWP phase noise and VCO tester from Rohde & Schwarz measures phase noise with high accuracy at frequencies beyond 50GHz.
NB-IoT Base Station acceptance test is a first
With growing demand for LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) services and applications as part of the Internet of Things (IoT), 3GPP has developed Narrow Band IoT (NB-IoT) as a new cellular air interface that is fully adapted to the requirements of machine type communications. To ensure the significant quality and standardised network deployment, in October, CMCC and Rohde & Schwarz finished the first test session for NB-IoT capable base stations toget...
Companies report Carrier ID management test success
A collaboration between TeamCast and Rohde & Schwarz has successfully completed a DVB-CID interoperability test session between the DVB-CID generator embedded in the R&S BTC Broadcast Test Center (pictured) and the TeamCast DVB-CID Receiver. As for every new standard introduced on the market, different interpretations of the mathematical specification can be made. As no interoperability test session was organised so far by the DVB group, ...
Software options usher in Bluetooth 5 test solution
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has specified new low-energy (LE) features in Bluetooth 5 that are tailored primarily to Internet of Things (IoT) applications. A key criterion for these applications is the lowest possible power consumption. An option is now available that makes it possible to quadruple the range of Bluetooth connections by transmitting data multiple times.
Iowa State triumphs in Rohde & Schwarz competition
Iowa State University Aerospace Engineering Department is the winner of Rohde & Schwarz’s 2 minutes competition and is the recipient of the star prize of an R&S Scope Rider.
