Rittal Articles
Rittal extends service portfolio
Rittal now offer a thermal analyses service for data centres. On average, approximately 18 percent of the energy costs occurring in data centres are consumed by cooling systems. An optimised climate control system can cut energy costs.
Rittal Power Engineering Software v6.0
Rittal’s latest Power Engineering planning software v6.0 provide comprehensive support in planning and verifying standardised Ri4Power switchgear, as required by the new IEC 61439-1/-2 standard for low voltage switchgear. Main features of the new standard include extensive verification of the design of switchgear created by original switchgear manufacturer, as well as exact details of the rated currents of switching devices. The new standard of...
RiCell Flex Fuel Cell System - The Alternative Emergency Power Supply
In the past, conventional fuel cells for stationary applications had seldom been economically viable, because of the high costs compared to conventional technologies. Worries about energy consumption and efficiency, a complex structure in conjunction with expensive maintenance and service costs, as well as the inability to expand, stood in the way of fuel cell technology making a breakthrough.
Advanced management solution for greater energy efficiency in data centres
Data centres can account for half the power consumption of a company and on average 37 percent of this is used for cooling. By integrating Rittal RiZone with IBM's MMT (Management and Measurement Tool) a comprehensive energy management solution is available for all parts of a data centre that can monitor, actively regulate and reduce their data centre's energy consumption by more than 10 percent.
Outdoor Cabinet Installations made easy
Rittals pre-cast concrete base/plinths for their range of outdoor free-standing enclosures have been developed to simplify installation and eliminate the need to pour concrete on site. Manufactured from a specially developed light, untreated concrete, the units are 1M high when assembled and ideally fit a 700mm deep excavation. The front and rear plinths are screw fastened from inside and can be quickly and easily fitted together in situ.
Energy efficient cooling using ambient air
Rittal continue to expand their range of TopTherm fan and filter units with a 230V AC 900m3/h variant. The entire range of fan and filter units utilise a diagonal fan to provide improved performance against increased static pressure difference. In turn, this offers greater energy efficiency and a more constant air throughput, effectively minimising the occurrence of hot spots. The new product is also fitted with an electronically commutated (EC...
Rittal’s RiCAD 3D for efficient planning and Design
Rittal’s RiCAD-3D software version 3 supports the creation of models to provide a complete 3D picture of Rittal products with the visualisation, layout and spacing of single components. The RiCAD 3D database includes both 2D and 3D drawings for virtually all Rittal products, together with an extensive range of system accessories.
Interior Installation Made Easy
Mounting equipment to the inside of an enclosure, without using the mounting plate or drilling holes into the wall of the enclosure, is not an easy task. Rittal’s Interior rails have been designed to fit within a range of enclosures, with various depths, to eliminate the need for drilling holes in the sides, base or top of the enclosure, which could affect water ingress or corrosion resistance
Protect your enclosure from unwanted “artists”
Rittal’s nano-coating option for their outdoor enclosure range can be applied to the external finish of an enclosure to help reduce the effects of graffiti and make the clean-up process quicker, easier and less costly. This is in addition to utilising the properties of nano-technology, as a cold spray pre-treatment prior to paint improves the resistance to corrosion for the cabinets.
New TopTherm fan-and-filter units
Rittal’s new and innovative TopTherm fan-and-filter units are available now and bring numerous tangible benefits.
Energy efficient enclosure climate control
Rittal continue to improve the energy efficiency of enclosure climate control solutions by incorporating ever more innovative technologies into their cooling products. The Eco-mode control system from Rittal employs an intelligent strategy to effectively target the use of energy by disabling the internal fan when the temperature inside the enclosure falls to 10° K below the setpoint temperature. The fan is then enabled for a period of 30 seconds...
New Generation ‘Blue e’ enclosure cooling units from Rittal
Rittal are converting their entire range of cooling units with Comfort controller to the new Generation ‘Blue e’. The intelligent, targeted use of energy using the innovative eco-mode control system from Rittal, together with the use of energy efficient EC fan technology, provide increased energy savings, reduced costs and help to conserve the environment.
Rittal Data Centre Container
Rittal introduce the 12 m long XL version of its turnkey Data Centre Container (DCC) especially designed for IT applications and targeted at medium-sized companies with a very high demand for computing power, as well as at large corporations or hosting providers
Rittal’s new space-saving and automated CMC III
Rittal presents CMC III, the third and completely re-designed generation of their Computer Multi Control monitoring systems with its striking new feature, the change to Controller Area Network buses. Standardised and very robust, these field buses are integrated in the central processing unit and in Rittal's intelligent sensors. Unlike traditional I/O units, the CAN-bus sensors are not individually connected to the central processing unit, but r...
