A new report from a UK renewable trade association has found that the sustainable use of bioenergy is core to the UK meeting its legally binding 5th Carbon Budget. By increasing its deployment by a factor of 2.5 by 2032, sustainable bioenergy has the potential to meet the Committee on Climate Change’s (CCC) projected shortfall of the 5th Carbon Budget and the impending nuclear gap by providing an additional 117TWh.

James Court, Head of Policy & External Affairs, Renewable Energy Association has responded to the Road to Zero strategy with an optimistic outlook on funding and the new regulations for electric vehicle charging.

  The first meeting of the REA’s Electric Vehicle Group in London attracted over 70 individuals from leading EV manufacturing, grid management, and charging infrastructure companies. This inaugural meeting is was open to REA members and non-members alike.
