Record download speeds reached in advanced LTE lab trial

  Using evolved, commercially-available 4G LTE technology, T-Mobile, Nokia, and Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm, have exceeded Gigabit speeds. In tests at T-Mobile’s lab, download speeds of 1.175Gbps were achieved on T-Mobile’s LTE network utilising Nokia’s 4.9G network powered by the Nokia AirScale Base Station together with the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem.

Snapdragon 835 mobile platform powers Samsung Galaxy Note8

Subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, Qualcomm Technologies, has announced that its premium mobile platform is powering what it supposedly Samsung’s most advanced smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note8, for select regions. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, which is one of the first commercial SoC manufactured using 10nm FinFET technology.

Connected family vision leads to 4G kid's watch

Two companies at Mobile World Congress Shanghai, Qualcomm Technologies and 360 announced that together they are working on 4G kid watches and are launching 360’s first product for this industry, 360 Kids Watch 6S, based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform. The 360 Kids Watch 6S combines the Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform with the 360 OS for Wear operating system, both optimised to meet the evolving needs of connected families.

Qualcomm begins commercial sampling of 10nm server processor

Qualcomm through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies, announced commercial sampling and conducted a live demonstration of the world’s first 10nm server processor. As the first in the Qualcomm Centriq product family, the Qualcomm Centriq 2400 series has up to 48-cores and is built on the most advanced 10nm FinFET process technology.

New IoT technology trialled first in Europe

The new Internet of Things (IoT) technology LTE-M (also known as LTE Cat-M1) has successfully been trialled by KPN, the first European operator. LTE-M (Machine Type Communication) is a new technology that can be rolled out on the existing 4G network. The LTE-M technology is complementary to the recently introduced LoRa network of KPN as well as to existing Machine-to-Machine (M2M) uses cases on 4G.
