CoreHW and Presto Engineering develop ultra-small low-power RF module
CoreHW and Presto Engineering have announced the successful development of the first enhanced low-power radio frequency (RF) 2.4GHz front-end module, packaged in an ultra-small and thin wafer-scale form.
Presto Engineering achieves ISO 13485 certification
Presto Engineering, a European expert in application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design, engineering, and production services, is pleased to announce that it has successfully passed EN ISO 13485 certification, the internationally recognised quality benchmark for medical device manufacturers.
DENTRESSANGLE Capital enters talks to acquire Presto Engineering
DENTRESSANGLE Capital has entered exclusive talks to acquire Presto Engineering with its ASIC expertise.
Presto Engineering announces ISO27001 certification
Presto Engineering, a specialist European expert in application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design, engineering, and production services, is pleased to announce that it has successfully passed ISO27001 certification, which is the global standard for an effective information security management system.
Advancing wearable brain sensing
Presto Engineering and T&W Engineering announced their collaboration to develop an ASIC for measuring high quality, multi-channel dry-electrode EEG for next-generation wearable brain sensing.
PRESTO robotic inspection cell
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division has launched its new automated robotic inspection cell PRESTO, enabling manufacturers to reduce quality inspection times, increase efficiency, and streamline workflows. PRESTO will enable customers, such as automotive OEMs, to cope with the dynamic demands of the market – such as the shift to electric mobility – by increasing measurement capacity, and thus reducing time to market.
Parallel testing of automotive products for faster time to market
Automotive electronics testing is one of the most exacting of all test and qualification protocols before production release because of the safety and liability considerations. The AEC Q100 revisions, ZVEI and its French equivalent SIA for accelerated environment stress tests not only list the time or number of cycles that batches of samples have to be tested for, but ISO26262 also defines the set of mission profiles per product application in th...
Design Team of the Year finalist at Elektra Awards
At this year's Elektra Awards, Presto Engineering has been selected as a finalist in the Design Team of the Year category. The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony that will be held in London on the 5th of December 2018.
Europe's largest semiconductor testing facility gets an upgrade
Semiconductors play increasingly important control roles in automotive, industrial and safety critical applications. Quality and reliability are therefore of vital importance and so Presto Engineering has completed certification to the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard at its facility in Caen, France, which is Europe's largest independent semiconductor test facility.

100GHz test capabilities make debut at EuMW 2018
High volume testing of semiconductor devices up to 100GHz and beyond will be announced by Presto Engineering at European Microwave Week, in Madrid (23rd-28th September). Applications that use GHz frequencies, i.e. millimetre wavelengths (MMW), are increasing rapidly and thus driving the need for high volume device testing.
Shifting the boundaries of test to keep pace with new technology
Test facility company Presto Engineering is coming to the aid of customers who find the technology in their products has outpaced the means of testing them.
Specialised testing service for CMOS image sensors
Testing CMOS image sensors on a wafer-size scale is not easy because of the challenges of creating uniform illumination over a large area. Presto Engineering has developed a custom, computer-controlled solution that illuminates sections of the wafer in turn. Integrating the results enables the whole wafer to be tested automatically for an array of large sensors or even sensors that are right up to the size of an entire 12" wafer.
Manufacturing, test services feature in Nuremberg
Many years ago, ASICs revolutionised the electronics industry by shrinking a PCBA onto a single chip. However, as semiconductor process technology advanced, the cost of making a chip on the newer process nodes increased to the point where companies think it too expensive to consider.
Addressing IoT chip security with manufacturing test services
The recent Meltdown and Spectre problems have highlighted the vulnerability of computer chips to hacking that can, at least, be addressed through software patches. However, another area that is increasingly a target for hackers is IoT where each node in an IoT network can provide an entry point to a company's corporate systems, in a similar manner to the way that home security cameras, robot vacuum cleaners, have been hacked.
