DC/DC controller provides low output voltage ripple
A digital DC/DC controller, suitable for FPGA, ASIC, and POL power in communications and computing applications, has been released by Powervation. Designed for key rails that demand precision output voltage regulation and tight control during transient conditions, the PV3105 digital controller provides low jitter and low output voltage ripple, and improved transient response.
Digital power range showcased at APEC
Powervation has announced that it will showcase its Intelligent Digital Power solutions for high-performance computing, communications infrastructure and advanced digital power modules, at this year’s Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) and Exposition scheduled in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Digital DC/DC controllers, designed for gaming and high-performance motherboards, embedded computing, networking, and telecomms applications, have been released by Powervation. DC/DC controllers provide precision regulation & telemetry
Providing precision regulation and telemetry to support the latest high efficiency computing system designs, a series of flexible programmable digital DC/DC controllers for servers, high-end desktop, and embedded computing systems has been released by Powervation. The PV3103, PV3104, and PV3202 devices feature single and dual phase outputs and support both PMBus and Intel’s VR12.5 Serial VID (SVID) bus.
Powervation raises $7m in debt & equity financing
Powervation has closed a $3.0m term debt agreement with Ares Capital that supplements a $4m private equity financing that closed in the December quarter. All existing investors participated in the equity financing, including: Scottish Equity Partners, Braemar Energy Ventures, Intel Capital, VentureTech, 4th Level Ventures and Semtech.
Powervation appoint new Vice President and CFO
Rick Santos has been appointed as the new Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Powervation. Santos has 20 years of corporate finance, M&A, and international financial management experience with both public and privately-held companies. As Vice President and CFO of Validity Sensors, Santos led the company through its successful acquisition by Synaptics Incorporated in November 2013.

Powervation Announces PowerSMART v1.1 Upgrade
Powervation have today announced the release of PowerSMART v1.1, an updated version of their design tool, as well as, the release of a new PV3012 firmware for the PMBus compliant dual-phase digital controller. The PowerSMART design tool allows users to communicate with and configure the Powervation digital power control ICs (e.g., PV3101 and PV3012) from their laptop using a standard USB connection.
