Switcher ICs target industrial & three-phase power supplies
Power Integrations has expanded its InnoSwitch-EP family of off-line CV/CC flyback switcher ICs with the introduction of a 900V device. The 900V InnoSwitch-EP IC targets power supplies operating from high-voltage DC and three-phase power sources found in industrial, motor-drive, metering and renewable energy applications, as well as standard mains-voltage applications where continuous operation is required during line swells and surges.
Lighting driver suits a variety of lamp designs
The LYTSwitch-3 family has been added to the LYTSwitch line of LED driver ICs from Power Integrations. Well suited for bulbs, tubes and downlights up to 20W, LYTSwitch-3 ICs offer dimming performance with both leading edge and trailing edge TRIAC dimmers, and support both isolated and non-isolated topologies.
Ref. design to be used for USB-PD compliant fast chargers
Power Integrations, in association with Cypress Semiconductor, announced a joint reference design describing a 20-watt, USB-PD compliant AC-DC power converter targeted at chargers for smart mobile devices. The design, titled DER-533, pairs the EZ-PD CCG2 USB Type-C port controller from Cypress with Power Integrations’ InnoSwitch -CP off-line CV/CC flyback switcher IC, enabling designers to produce a standards-compliant power adapter that is...
Single-stage LED driver ICs support multiple topologies
Combining PFC and constant-current output, the LYTSwitch-5 single-stage LED driver IC family has been introduced by Power Integrations. The devices achieve over 90% efficiency, 0.9 PF, less than 5% THD and ±3% current regulation accuracy over line, load, production variance, temperature and multiple topologies, making it suited for solid-state lighting applications below 25W.
Constant power ICs can optimise charging across mobile devices
Expanding its InnoSwitch IC family, Power Integrations has added a constant power version of the switching technology which combines primary, secondary and feedback circuits in a single surface-mounted off-line flyback switcher IC.
Company awarded $139.8m in damages
Power Integrations has announced the latest result in one of its ongoing patent cases against Fairchild Semiconductor.
