Picosun and Shincron join forces for ALD optical coating development.

Picosun Group has launched a Medical Materials Library consisting of over ten materials intended for medical-related coating and encapsulation with Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD).

The Picosun Innovation Lab will be used for the company’s own research and development projects, for demo purposes and most importantly for serving the company’s global semiconductor customers operating in the 300mm market.

Picosun Sprinter was first launched in December 2020 as a stand-alone module. Now customer deliveries and installations of Picosun Sprinter clusters have also begun.

Picosun Group has proved to significantly increase the production efficiency of its LED and OLED customers with the PICOSUN P-300BV ALD system. Recent tests show that a reduced ALD process cycle time and an increased number of wafers deposited with the same film thickness resulted in almost 100% better throughput.

The 300 mm cluster design is based on the company’s long-term top product, the fully automated, multifunctional PICOPLATFORM ALD deposition unit for parallel, simultaneous execution of several different processes for high-k and metal/metal nitride films.
