Battery-powered all-in-one smart home alarm
It has been announced that Nordic Semiconductor's nRF9160 System-in-Package (SiP) LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular IoT module is being employed to provide LTE-M cellular wireless connectivity in the formerly WiFi and Bluetooth Low Energy-only, battery-powered 'Point' smart home alarm developed by Swedish startup Minut.

Multiprotocol SoC enables Thread and Bluetooth 5 connectivity

BLE brings model railroading into the 21st century
Bachmann Trains is employing Nordic Semiconductor BLE nRF51822 SoCs at the heart of its E-Z App system. E-Z App was developed in conjunction with Bluetooth model train PCB design specialist and game developer, BlueRail Trains, using Nordic nRF51822-based BMD-200 modules from U.S. engineering firm Rigado that also contributed design expertise to the project.
