Laser scanning halves inspection times

Czech company Lukov Plast, a producer of injection moulded plastic parts, electronic components and electrical sub-assemblies for the automotive industry, has reported faster inspection cycles and feature measurements following the purchase of a Nikon Metrology LC15Dx laser scanner.

Versatile quality control of medical parts

Quality assurance is vital in the production of accurate, patient-specific implants, endoprostheses and surgical guides. Consequently, Baltic Orthoservice in Kaunas, Lithuania uses a multi-sensor coordinate measuring machine (CMM) including a laser scanner in conjunction with a micro-CT (computed tomography) system, all supplied by Nikon Metrology.

Video measuring ups quality of PCBs

A Nikon Metrology video measuring machine has improved quality control of PCBs at Stevenage Circuits Limited (SCL). The new Nikon iNEXIV VMA4540 is used virtually continuously for 2-D optical coordinate measurement of machined features and copper tracks. It underpins not only first article inspection of boards and printed reports for customers, but also process control in the drilling, etching and routing departments.

CT inspection advances production of 3D printed medical implants
