Strategic partnership to supply sustainable aviation fuel
Neste and Avfuel have announced a strategic partnership to create an efficient, continuous supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the United States. Neste will provide Avfuel with SAF in volumes able to meet the growing demands of Avfuel’s customers, including fixed base operators (FBOs), airports, flight departments, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and commercial operators.
Neste invests in AFS fuel storage company
Neste has acquired a minority stake in Aircraft Fuel Supply B.V. (AFS). AFS is the owner and operator of the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol fuel storage company. Investment in high-temperature electrolysis
Neste has acquired a minority stake in the German cleantech company Sunfire. Sunfire is a developer of high-temperature electrolysis technology. The company’s patented technology allows the production of renewable hydrogen as well as the direct conversion of water and CO2 into raw material for petrochemical products.
Renewable products reduce global emissions 9.6 million
In 2019, Neste’s renewable products helped customers in several geographic markets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 9.6 million tonnes altogether. This amount equals the annual carbon footprint of 1.5 million average EU citizens or the removal of 3.5 million passenger cars from the roads for a full year.
