DC/DC converter delivers up to 481W/cubic inch
Murata Power Solutions has announced the latest addition to the OKLP range of 'Power Block' products, the OKLP-X60-W12A-C 60A solution. Essentially a non-isolated buck converter without the PWM controller, this 'Power Block' concept sits between a discrete PoL design and that of a complete non-isolated buck converter module.
Power converters deliver leading efficiency & form factor
Murata has announced the launch of the D1U86P series of ultra-high density power converters. Each power supply generates a main output of 12VDC with a 12VDC standby output for power management circuitry. The main DC output delivers up to 133.3A, with droop current sharing when parallelling multiple power supplies. Up to eight power supplies may be used in parallel for very high current applications.
Eighth brick DC/DC power module features a 9-36V Vin range
The industry’s first eighth brick DC/DC power module to deliver 12Vout at 120W from a nominal 12V, 24V or 28VDC source has been released by Murata Power Solutions. Featuring a 4:1 Vin range of 9-36V, industry standard DOSA compliant form-factor, optional integrated baseplate and high efficiency, the UWE-12/10-Q12xx-C is suitable for high reliability systems and systems requiring battery back-up.
PoL DC/DC converters are configurable via PMBus
Murata’s OKDx-T/20-W12 and T/25-W12 series PoL DC/DC converters offer an efficient, high power density, PMBus compatible digital power solution for space constrained embedded applications such as powering CPUs, datacomms/telecomms, Distributed Bus Architectures (DBA), programmable logic, and mixed voltage systems in the networking, computing/servers and industrial market sectors.
DC/DC converters integrate a PMBus compatible interface
Featuring a PMBus compatible digital interface, the DRQ family of DC/DC converters has been released by Murata. The company’s family consists of the DRQ-12/42-D48, a 500W converter, and the DRQ-12/50-L48, a 600W converter. Based on a 32-bit ARM7 processor, the devices are packaged in the industry standard quarter-brick format which incorporates an ABC pinout for PMBus communications.
50A POL DC/DC converter can be digitally controlled
Expanding the company's Okami range of non-isolated converters, a series of 50A digitally controlled PoL DC/DC converters have been introduced by Murata Power Solutions. Capable of delivering 50A/165W from a high power density module measuring only 30.85x20.0x8.2mm, the OKDx-T/50 series can be configured and monitored using industry standard PMBus commands.
Programmable AC/DC power supplies offer 12VDC, 54VDC
An addition to Murata Power Solutions’ D1U4 series of AC-DC front-end power supplies features a dual I2C interface, controllable bidirectional output isolation. The compact D1U4 measures just 41 x 355.6 x 101.6 mm and allows up to four supplies to be contained on a single 1U-high 19-inch rack-mounting chassis.
Layered production cuts height & price of DC/DC converters
Using a layered substrate manufacturing process, the NXE1, 1W DC/DC converter is the first of a planned family of DC/DC converters from Murata. A transformer is embedded in the substrate, which saves space compared with conventional DC/DC converters.
DC/DC converters provide configurable output voltage
The MGJ3 and MGJ6 series of configurable output voltage, high isolation DC/DC converters have been introduced by Murata. The 3 and 6W converters are optimised for use as high- and low-side gate drivers in IGBT and MOSFET bridge circuit designs for end applications including motor drives, traction control drives and wind turbine generators.
Murata and Ericsson announce collaboration
Aiming to accelerate the adoption of digital power products, Murata Power Solutions and Ericsson have entered into a technical collaboration agreement. Both companies will release a range of standardised digital power modules, providing multiple product sources to manufacturers that are considering migrating designs from analogue to digitally monitored and controlled units.
420W 1/4 brick DC/DC converter is PMBus compliant
Murata announced the DBQ series of isolated digitally controlled DC/DC converters. Incorporating a 32-bit ARM7 processor, the 420W regulated DBQ0135V2 model is the first in a series of DC/DC converters to include a PMBus compatible digital interface. The DBQ series is packaged in the industry standard quarter-brick format incorporating the Advanced Bus Converter (ABC) pinout for PMBus communications to an isolated DC/DC converter.
2W DC/DC converters offer power density of 0.81W/cm3
High isolation dual output DC/DC converters, the MGJ2 series from Murata Power Solutions is suitable for powering “high side” and “low side” gate drives in bridge circuits using insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) and MOSFETs. Packaged in an industry-standard SIP format, they occupy a 1.96cm2 footprint and achieve a power density of 0.81W/cm3.
Converters offered in 3 nominal input voltage ranges
A family of isolated 6W single and dual output DC/DC converters, designated the NCM6 series, has been launched by Murata. Accommodating up to an ultra wide 4:1 input range, the DC/DC converters are available in three nominal input voltage ranges of either 5 VDC input (4.5 – 9 VDC 2:1 range), 12 VDC (9 – 36 VDC 4:1 range) or 48 VDC (18 – 75 VDC 4:1 range).
2W DC/DC converter offers 50% smaller footprint
Believed to be the industry’s smallest 2W converter, the MTU2 series of ultra miniature surface mounted 2W DC/DC converters have been announced by Murata. Measuring just 8.2x8.4x8.5mm with a 0.69cm2 footprint, it is 50% smaller than the current 1.67cm2 industry standard. Load regulation is typically 5% better than other products available on the market, reducing the need for any additional regulation components.
