ISA standard set to become standard open architecture
It has been announced that Ted Speers, Head of Product Architecture and Planning for its SoC business unit, has been appointed to the inaugural board of directors of the RISC-V Foundation by Microsemi Corporation. The nonprofit formally introduced Speers and six other board members at the fourth annual RISC-V Workshop, held at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts 12th-13th July, 2016.
Imaging/video solution comprises FMC, IP suite & GUI
Microsemi has announced an imaging/video solution for the development of low power and reliable video processing applications. The new platform is comprised of an FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC), a comprehensive IP suite and GUI. The FMC plugged into the SmartFusion2 Advanced Development Kit demonstrates Microsemi’s IGLOO2 FPGA and SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA capabilities to support configurable and scalable camera, imaging and video designs.
