Rugged COM express module delivers powerful graphics
An ultra-rugged COM Express module for rail, public transportation and industry applications, such as data acquisition, infotainment, transcoding and live 3D, has been introduced with the CB71C. It is compatible with COM Express Type six Pin-Out and conforms to the VITA 59 standard, which specifies robust mechanics to ensure reliable operation even under the harshest environmental conditions.
Research for IT security solutions in the railway market
It has been announced that MEN is now part of the HASELNUSS consortium of DB Netz AG, the Fraunhofer Institute, Sysgo and TU-Darmstadt for the development of hardware-based safety platforms for railway control and security technology. Thanks to experience in the safety-critical transport sector, MEN can advise the research project on questions relating to safety architecture.
In-house test laboratory gets DakkS approval
The in-house test laboratory at MEN MikroElektronik has been accredited by the German accreditation body DAkkS, according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for EMC, environmental simulation tests and safety of electrical equipment. With accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, MEN can now supply recognised test reports for further approvals of the end system.

Multi-display controller offers full HD for 7 to 15” panel PCs
Offering full HD for panel PCs ranging from 7 to 15” in size, the CC10S multi-display controller card has been introduced by MEN. The controller, which measures 95x95mm, provides dual-channel LVDS with a maximal resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.
Maintenance-free box computer is IP65 rated
A rugged, maintenance-free box computer designed for data acquisition has been released by MEN Mikro Elektronik GmbH. The BC50R, which is IP65 rated, features USB, digital input and output, GigE, CAN and legacy serial I/Os implemented on rugged M12 connectors.
Ethernet switch offers POE+ in 3UCompactPCI format
Men Mikro’s unmanaged Ethernet switch G304 uses Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) and a direct Ethernet to CPU connection via the P1 connector for reliable communications in several harsh and mobile applications. Based on the CompactPCI Serial standard in 3U, the robust switch also conforms to the railway standard EN 50155.
Wireless access point tracks railway applications
The EN 50155-compliant NM50 wireless access point meets all the requirements of modern railway applications. In addition to its robust design, the new unit comes with a wide range power supply for voltages between 14.4 and 154 VDC. Developed by Men Mikro Elektronik, the new wireless access point is especially designed for demanding rail and automotive applications, and operates over an extended operating temperature range from -40 to +85°C.
Safe CompactPCI PlusIO SBC with QNX support
Men Mikro has introduced the F75P single-board computer that brings functional safety to the board level, using redundant Intel Atom processors. The safe QNX operating system and the corresponding certification package make the F75P a SIL 4 certified turn-key solution. Two out of a total of three Intel Atom E680T processors are set up to be a redundant control unit with 1.6 GHz and 512 MB DDR2 RAM, running with a safe QNX BSP.
CompactPCI board offers platform to railway applications
The new 3U CompactPCI board F403 with 16 bidirectional digital I/O channels has been designed specifically for modern railway applications. It is suited for many different control functions, such as door-locking control and interior lighting. The board supports a total of 16 bidirectional digital I/O channels, organised into four optically isolated groups for reliable data transmission with four channels in each group.
Low-power COM based on ARM processor technology
Based on the new VITA 59 - Rugged COM Express standard and equipped with the ARM i.MX 6, the CC10C not only has a leading role in terms of robust COM Express compatible modules, but is also the first standard product from MEN in the low-power COM area using ARM processor technology.
