IO-Link reference designs improve industrial efficiency

Two subsystem reference designs, introduced by Maxim Integrated Products, integrate the benefits of IO-Link into a proximity sensor and a 16-channel digital-input hub. The MAXREFDES27# provides very accurate, low-power optical proximity sensing; while the MAXREFDES36# enhances distributed control with a compact digital-input hub.

Replace 20 Discrete Chips with One Converter

Now engineers can mix and match 20 ADCs, 20 DACs or 20 High voltage digital I/O pins in any order using the MAX11300, the new mixed-signal PIXI technology from Maxim Integrated Products. Designers often work with application-specific devices that are neither flexible nor easy to program. The MAX11300 PIXI is the industry’s first configurable 20-channel, -10V to +10V high-voltage mixed-signal data converter.

Li+ battery monitor used in Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid

The MAX11905 successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) has been announced by Maxim Integrated Products. The company claims that engineers can achieve the industry’s highest resolution and fastest sampling rate at the lowest power with the 20-bit, 1.6Ms/s device.
