The LynxOS family of real-time operating systems from Lynx Software Technologies and the VectorCAST test automation platform from Vector Software have been integrated to enable VectorCAST to support the dynamic testing of mission-critical LynxOS applications. These include those deployed on LynxOS-178, the only RTOS to be awarded a Reusable Software Component (RSC) by the FAA.

Currently under development is Ampyx Power’s Airborne Wind Energy system with a PowerPlane - a tethered aircraft that converts wind into economical green electricity. The company has selected LynxOS-178 as its software platform.

Extending the principle of domain separation to network connections, Lynx Software Technologies has unveiled the LynxSecure 5.3 Separation Kernel Hypervisor. At the same time, in partnership with Webroot, Lynx has revealed real time cloud-based threat detection for guest operating systems hosted by LynxSecure.

Lynx Software Technologies is offering LynxSecure, its least privilege separation kernel, for the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series. LynxSecure provides military-grade isolation of IoT domains on the gateway to protect the OT world from the malicious threats that are ever-present in the IT world.

Lynx Software Technologies is addressing the design of reliable, secure multi-tenancy embedded systems for the connected car and other markets at ERTS2 in Toulouse, France. The company has a joint presence on the show floor with its French distributor, ISIT.

Lynx Software Technologies is delivering demonstrations at the 11th ARM TechCon showing how its real-time security solutions offer unique safety and security functionality while embracing open standards. In February, the company announced that both its LynxOS 7.0 RTOS and its LynxSecure separation kernel hypervisor are moving to new ARM-based processors.

Lynx Software Technologies is addressing the issue of securing the connected car at the AESIN conference on Automotive Embedded Systems, National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, 28th-29th October. They are also discussing security in both the connected car and industrial IoT at the Deterministic Ethernet Forum (Vienna, October 23rd).

Webroot and Lynx Software Technologies have announced a strategic partnership. The companies are combining unique security technologies which enable developers to build advanced threat detection and protection into IoT and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices.

Software systems in aircraft have a long established near-perfect track record, and that is very largely due to the DO-178B/C series of standards and the people who contribute to them. Lynx Software Technologies and its’ Russian distributor RTSoft, have announced that its LynxOS-178 RTOS is being used in a flight system of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, designed by Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Design Bureau (UIMDB).
